When Consumer Reports rated Rogaine (minoxidil) as “the most disappointing hair growth treatment ever,” this was a result of a combination of factors. Poor tolerance to the medication—which can often cause hairstyling problems at the least and, at the worst, a significant irritation to the scalp—coupled with the discipline required to achieve effectiveness has always significantly hindered hair loss patients from reaching their goal with minoxidil. I typically gain weight overnight after my infusion days. I have now had four infusions of chemo drugs Adriamycin and Cytoxan and will move on to Taxol later this month. Overnight weight gain after my four A/C infusions have been 5, 5, 6, and 8.5 pounds. (That last one came just in time for the Supermoon.) My weight tends to resolve in about a week.
