Move over Michael Jackson, here comes the Bald Eagle showing how to do it better. The eagle was eating away a dead carp fish (earlier picture) when it decided to jump off and slide on the ice float of the frozen Otonabee river. May be he needed a bit of stretching. This photo is made from two consecutive shots and stitched together in Photoshop. A little later the Eagle tried to walk back to the fish and found it hard to do. So he took the short cut, flew back on the fish to resume his eating. Such a fun to watch and photograph this magnificent bird. Initially there was a female eagle eating away the fish and this male was waiting patiently on a tree nearby for her to leave. When she eventually did this male descended on the fish and worked on it for an hour.
I’m now already for more then four month in Hamburg but didn’t shoot a lot here… I guess that’s just how it always is during a masters thesis ;) Nevertheless I enjoy shooting and being a little creative even more…
This image probably isn’t any special and I guess most of you have seen this before. But it could stand for my actual life… everything is a little different now which it’s kind of cool ;)

Inside the church known as the Church of the Jesuits (that is what it said at the entrance of the church), but that is actually called the Church of the Circumcision of Our Lord. It is also known as the Church of the University (and the Master and doctoral graduation ceremonies are held at this church).
As the name suggests, it was founded by the Jesuits in 1593. This is not really the original building, but one built in the Baroque style after a nearby explosion at a gunpowder factory severely damaged the building. That was in 1634, and work was carried out for much of the 17th century.
In 1768 the Jesuits were expelled from Malta and had to leave the church behind, and the Knights Hospitaller, who had control over Malta at the time, took over.

we sat on a bench and once enjoyed the view of the side facing away from the panorama of the old town. Looked fantastic in color, but I think in b/w it fits better in my little series today.
Wir saßen auf einer Bank und genossen einmal den Blick auf die vom Panorama der Altstadt abgewandte Seite. Sah in Farbe fantastisch aus, aber ich denke, in s / w passt es heute besser in meine kleine Serie.

The Short Line traverses the short stretch of CSL trackage between the Illinois International Port and its yard at 95th Street with mill gondolas that it will take east towards Indiana Harbor.
This trackage historically led into a Youngstown Sheet and Tube mill located on the east bank of the Calumet River originally founded by Iroquois Steel, the original owner of the CSL. In the early 1950s, the mill had three blast furnaces and seventy coke ovens, one of the smaller integrated steel mills on Chicago's southeast side. The mill was shut down by the end of the 1960s and converted into what is now the Illinois International Port (Iroquois Landing)
