Each spring, at some point during the Memorial Day Weekend, a trip to the Chicago Botanical Gardens is made. Again, the visit yielded amazing and colorful captures that I'm only too happy to add to the favorites bucket.
I tried this shot with some different aperture settings and decided to keep f/7.1 as it gave a nice balance of some items in the frame well within focus and some others not so much. It lent a bit of a holographic (hopefully faerie-like) feeling.
A side view of Mount Rushmore National Memoorial. As we were leaving the park (the most commercialized of the national parks/monuments), we got a good view of Washington from a small pull-off.
This is the side door at Queens Park... This photo doesn't do it justice, but it was just a gorgeous spot.

I played with a couple head designs for the Tarakava, but none of them felt quite right until I tried to build something Salamence-inspired which, appropriately enough, can be rebuilt in black. The eye is a white and black droid arms with the little fang pieces, a really cool technique I can't wait to use again.

While i was looking at the pictures I took for this week MACRO MONDAY , I found this wonder. It is a test shot, done only for testing lights and focus, but is so fascinating that I couldn't help to publish it.

Mentre riguardavo le foto che ho scattato per il MACRO MONDAY di questa settimana, ho trovato questa meraviglia. Si tratta di uno scatto di prova, fatto solo per testare le luci e la messa a fuoco, ma per me ha un tale fascino che non potevo non pubblicarlo.
Ha un che di primordiale, è un misto di liquido ed etereo, organico ed alieno...
