The ladies were unsure whether or not to approach the man with the metal tube, but the ram was giving me the side eye and they all stayed away.

This is the massive dam wall at one end of the lake, not built with cement but rock and earth.
At one stage, construction was stopped as it kept leaking, and they had to figure out how to get it right.
On the other side of it, beautiful lush green pastures roll on forever.
Bobby is just a tiny black dot disappearing into the distance as he goes for a wander, and due to his loyalty and good nature, he pauses and waits for me..
This is a small part of The Great Dividing Range, which divides the east coast of Australia from the rest of the country.
The state border cuts through Mount Barney National Park, on the other side of the peaks.
I'm posting this one because it was my former dog's birthday this week.
This was taken 2004. He still had another 6 years on this planet.
My Best Boy In The Universe, Bobby, would have been 19..
And this reminds me of 'The Rainbow Bridge' poem, where all departed, beloved pets go to wait with others for the time when we arrive to join them again.
It's just fantasy, but was written to comfort us complicated, emotional, tragic humans..
He's a long way away in this scene as he makes his journey over the dam wall 'bridge' to the other side.
When I look at this, I remember how 'Left Behind' I felt, when he left my life, so helpless, and powerless to do anything about it…shocked and suddenly excruciatingly lonely..it was worse than losing a limb..
And he is going off without me, all alone.
The depths of my being is still so torn, that I could've made things more right in the months leading up to his departure.
I haven't had a good night's rest since, and my health has suffered.
You see, Bobby and I would sleep back to back, he never moved till I woke up in the mornings…his warmth was always there and it gave me such a blissful slumber.
It was something to look forward to, the only solid reliable feeling of support through times of 'thick and thin'..
On cold winter nights, we'd share the same hot water bottle, sandwiched in between us…
Four years have passed now and he seems so far away…
And my back always hurts...

(thanks to my easy setup handy gorillapod)
the common denominator of these series is the gorillapod & F22 aperture,
not to mention the nikkor 17-35mm F2.8 lens under torture test.
Just a photo of the always sleepy Spencer from my archives.
I haven't been in the best of health recently so my photography output has dropped off a cliff somewhat. Hopefully with a bit of luck I can soon put that behind me and resume my Flickring at full pace in the near future.
Postbox toppers in Kendal The right hand box is one of the new type with a solar panel on top and officially knitted toppers are forbidden. But where there’s a will there’s a way, see my next post….

Conception of Porte de Bourgogne is similar to that of the triumphal arches, such as that of Titus in Rome, it gave the image of the modern city of the eighteenth century. It was built between 1750 and 1755 and designed by the architect André Portier under the supervision of the architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel. Initially the door of Burgundy was surrounded by 2 small side doors (demolished in 1807) which joined the uniform facades of the place.

Detailed side by side photos of the newly released 2015 Rapunzel Deluxe Feature 16'' Singing Doll versus the 2011 Limited Edition Rapunzel 17'' Doll, both by the Disney Store. Because of the singing and light up features of the Rapunzel Feature Doll, her right arm is not fully articulated, and her head only swivels, and doesn't tilt up or down. Her hair is shorter than the LE doll, but it is braided, so if it were straightened out, it might be as long. They are both golden blonde hair with gold tinsel. The Feature doll has a light up lantern as her accessory, which is better by far than the LE doll's brush. Their outfits are similar, but the LE doll's is much more elaborate and fuller, and is embellished with jewels. The LE doll also has a satin and tulle petticoat under her skirt. The LE doll has a more mature looking face, with long rooted lashes, and she is glancing to her upper right. The Feature doll is looking forward and slightly up, and has many short painted lashes both above and below her eyes.
