May 6, 2019 – A Musician-to-be?

I had a chance for some cuddles today with my new Great-Niece, only 10 days old. She’s precious, of course and already quite the charmer. And she has long fingers… a future pianist perhaps?

We never found he historical marker that goes with the bridge — but after about 10 miles of rocky roads, we found the bridge! More at wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regency_Bridge

The historical marker reads:

This area's first Colorado River bridge was at Regency, on Mills-San Saba County line. Built 1903, it served ranchers and farmers for going to market, but fell in 1924, killing a boy, a horse, and some cattle. Its successor was demolished by a 1936 flood. With 90 per cent of the work done by hand labor, the Regency Suspension Bridge was erected in 1939. It became the pride of the locality, and youths gathered there in the 1940s to picnic, dance, and sing. Bypassed by paved farm roads, it now (1976) survives as one of the last suspension bridges in Texas.

I like the way I caught the reflection, especially the reflection on the bottom pane of glass, in this photo.

The Pablove Shutterbugs Photography Day Camp teaches children and teens living with cancer "to develop their creative voice through the art of photography". Through this summer program, students learn about photography and composition. While working, with volunteers, they students also learn to express themselves and make new friends. It is an incredible opportunity for kids to have fun and take photographs!
