Day 153/365 - Mom #2.
This is my neighbour and "second Mom". You can't see it behind those giant shades, but there is a certain devilish twinkle in her eyes. I am told that when I was small, she had me convinced that she and her husband were my real parents, and the people I actually lived with were my dishwasher and my keeper. Yes, definitely a devilish twinkle in those eyes...
Restricted = no food or people. Close-up of my microplane, the one with the fine blade for Parmesan cheese. It's lethal.
Haven't seen a ladybird for ages. I hope this is one of the native ones and not the carnivorous invader types...
I love that Amber takes good photos while I walk around with my cellphone. I just liek to document experiences, she likes to take pieces of art.

May 6, 2019 – A Musician-to-be?
I had a chance for some cuddles today with my new Great-Niece, only 10 days old. She’s precious, of course and already quite the charmer. And she has long fingers… a future pianist perhaps?
my littlest, behind the camera. this was just 5 days before she got her own! she has been shooting ever since. she may just have a steadier hand than i :)
We climbed up and into some really old pyramids. I mean, really, really old. This is the so-called "Bent Pyramid". It dates back to about 2600 B.C., during the reign of the pharaoh Sneferu, and is one of the earlier pyramids. It's "bent" because they realized partway through that the angle was wrong and had to be changed. It was too steep initially. It was built at 55 degrees but partway through was changed to 43 degrees. A second, nearby pyramid (the "Red Pyramid") built shortly afterwards also by Sneferu was at 43 degrees.
Ironically (or maybe not), this is not actually one of the pyramids we climbed inside. It's not currently open to tourists.
(More pics coming soon. I promise.)
