Shutter failure - one of the leaves has failed.
Nikon have stated there are no inherent problems with this model of camera (D7000) - on receiving the estimate it is beyond economic repair- the camera body is now scrap.

With everything detailed,
I have not known the fear.
The shutter is wide open,
And I can't make a move.
This is weird, I know. Its a little blurry, but I thought I would put it up anyway. So I'm stuck between getting the Nikon D3000 or the Canon XS. What do you think?
Comments are very much appreciated!!

The shadows being cast from this garage door shutter in the Dean Village, Edinburgh caught my eye as I walked past.
Photography Homework: Shutter Priority.
Mode used was Shutter Priority. Opted for shutter speed 1/40th of a second. ISO 500. Focal length 129mm. F/5.9
I wanted to capture the movement of the water to give a slightly blurred, abstract look. I experimented quite a lot with this: Given the restrictions of the camera I was unable to use very fast shutter speeds as there was a tendency for the images to be really dark. The problem I had was that whilst I was able to control the shutter, the camera over rided my control over the ISO and Aperture, adjusting accordingly based on shutter speed. It was a dark afternoon, and the duck was quite far away. I zoomed in, focus locked on the duck and recomposed. As far as I can tell there's no camera shake even though the FL is 129mm and shutter speed was less than 1.5 times that.
