The invoice that came back with my shutter repair. The writing at the bottom is from Canon. They didn't replace the glass; they didn't clean the camera; they *did* replace the shutter assembly and also saw fit to replace the CF card module for some reason. The money is in Canadian, by the way.
The grey rod/plate links the shutter button to the release point. This passes behind the self time, which has been removed. The peg near the top is where the self timer actuates the shutter. I think the solenoid coils visible control the shutter timing electronically.

Cabildo Museum ~ New Orleans, LA
The Cabildo Museum is located in the French Quarter next to the Saint Louis Cathederal in New Orleans, LA. It houses many documents about the history of Louisiana, including the Louisiana Purchase.
Assignment: Shutter Speed: For this picture, I used a fast shutter speed so the photo would be in focus. Then I had to turn up my ISO so the picture would be brighter.
I forgot to use the flash for this one, so the shutter speed was very slow. It was a complete fluke, but now I think it's one of the best hummingbird pictures I've taken! :)
