The head ON the doll is the one I shrunk. The makeup changed a bit but not to a point where it's weird or gross, and the head's a little bit smaller. I expect the head to get even smaller in the next few weeks. Maybe if I took it out after 26 hours the makeup wouldn't have changed. I left it in for about 49 hours! I'm pretty happy so far with the results.

Global warming is significantly impacting the habitats of diverse animal species around the world, including those of polar bears. These iconic Arctic animals rely heavily on sea ice for hunting seals, their primary food source, as well as for breeding and traveling. As global temperatures rise, the extent and thickness of sea ice are drastically decreasing, leading to a loss of crucial hunting platforms and forcing polar bears to swim longer distances, expending vital energy and sometimes drowning. This shrinking ice also reduces the availability of suitable denning sites for females, threatening the survival of cubs and ultimately leading to population declines.

Penguins, particularly those in colder regions like Antarctica, are also facing habitat loss due to the effects of global warming. Many penguin species depend on sea ice for breeding and access to their primary food sources, such as krill and fish. Warmer temperatures are causing the ice to melt earlier and form later, reducing the duration of suitable breeding periods and impacting the availability of food. Changes in ocean currents and temperatures, also linked to global warming, can further disrupt the marine food web, affecting the abundance and distribution of prey for penguins. Some penguin species in warmer climates are also vulnerable to rising sea levels and increased frequency of extreme weather events that can destroy their nesting sites.

While alligators are cold-blooded reptiles found in warmer, subtropical environments, their habitats are also being affected by the consequences of global warming. Rising sea levels are inundating coastal wetlands, which are vital habitats for alligators. Increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as hurricanes and floods, can destroy alligator nests and alter freshwater ecosystems they depend on. Changes in temperature and rainfall patterns can also impact the availability of prey and the overall suitability of their habitats. Therefore, even species adapted to warmer climates are experiencing habitat shrinkage and disruption due to the widespread impacts of global warming.

建物の好き嫌いはともかく、風景の一部となっていた建物が徐々にフェードアウトしていく様が見られるのは、名残り惜しむ猶予をあたえられているようで、なんかいいなぁと思った。

This was taken after the sunset. The rocks at the foreground were illluminated by the last drop of light before it got really dark shortly after.

Shrinking Solution is a potion that causes the drinker to decrease in size or age. It is bright green when brewed correctly and is made from minced daisy roots, peeled Shrivelfig, sliced caterpillars, a single rat spleen, and a small amount of leech juice. The potion must be left to simmer before it can be drunk, and, if prepared incorrectly, it can be poisonous.

WOW I'M ALREADY HALFWAY THROUGH!

I came across Zev's photos and was in awe. So, this is inspired by a lot of his photos.

Let's call it a comeback! :-) Hi to all my flickr-friends, especially those who haven't forgotten me *G* Actually i just wanted to take a winter-break - i guess winter is over by now ;-)) Well, i just couldn't find time for taking pictures the last couple of months. Guess you all know how real real-life can be sometimes.

Anyway, this is my comeback-picture! I just heard about an effect called Tilt Shift, and immediately wanted to try this out, using an old shot form my archive. I know there are actually certain objectives for this, but you can also simulate it with Photoshop. Though it works best with Photoshop CS3-filter "Lense Blur" i think it came out quite ok using the Gaussian Blur from PS7.

So, it's good to be back. I will have more spare time now and I'll definitely spent some of it producing new pictures.

Members of Luna Rossa and the Heather Findlay Band combining for a superb rendition of Mostly Autumn favourite, Shrinking Violet. Heather Findlay and Anne-Marie Helder take centre stage and it was great to see them performing together again, the first time since Heather's departure from Mostly Autumn in 2010.

The event was a charity festival at St. Martin's Church in Fenny Stratford, Milton Keynes, helping to raise funds for MacMillan Cancer Support and the cancer unit at MK Hospital. An excellent evening of folk and prog music, some difficult light for photography but the acoustics in the church were superb, much better than many gigs I've attended over the years. And everyone sang from the same hymn sheet!

Shamelessly stealing Chro's jokes since 2013.
