Purposeful-looking thing, apparently first registered here in 2004.

the final resting place of shogun at Nikko

Somebody wanted me to do a non-Black MOC.

So I did.

While not substantially smaller than the Longhorn, the Shogun was much sleeker, was capable of wielding more conventional weaponry, and most importantly, no longer relied on diesel fuel. The Shogun used standard fuel cells, easily accessible via ports just below the main chestplate. The compact, but goofy-looking horn sensors were replaced with a more conventional antenna-and-dish system that could be raised and lowered as needed. The loss of the powerful diesel engine was offset by the installation of double the normal amount of muscle cylinders in the Shogun’s calves, complete with the needed cooling/venting systems to allow this to work. And the Shogun was the first frame to field the AG-07, well-received for incorporating several innovative features for a frame-based weapon, such as an adjustable folding stock, and an ammo clip that lay parallel to the main gun barrel, while the ammo itself lay perpendicular to the barrel in several rows, each shell separated and twisted ninety degrees before being fed into the chamber, allowing for a high-capacity clip in a relatively small space. Overall, the Shogun retains the best aspects of earlier IHI frames, like the versatile shoulder-mount brackets and overall rugged construction, while eliminating everything that was bad and embarrassing.

The ECF-S1 Shogun, in standard Soldier configuration. The forearm and thigh armor is 1B, the vents and teeth on the calves is 1G, the antenna is 1Y, and the AG-07 Assault Gun is 2Rd.

Shogun follows the adventures of John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis), an English navigator who is shipwrecked in Japan in the 1600s. Captured in an unknown world, Blackthorne becomes a pawn in the complex power struggles between Japanese feudal lords, and in particular those involving Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada). As he tries to adapt to Japanese culture, Blackthorne forms a bond with Lady Mariko (Anna Sawai), a noblewoman with a turbulent past, who becomes his translator and guide. Through political and personal intrigue, Blackthorne transforms from outsider to key player, influencing power dynamics in tumultuous feudal Japan. The series explores conflict and unity between different cultures, with a strong focus on love, loyalty and political strategy.

I'm only speculating, but this looked a lot like it had been stolen and dumped after a night of criminal activity. No nearside front window, ignition wiring on display and no MOT for over a year. I wonder how it lost the front bumper...

Shogun has been the name for the Mitsubishi Pajero (or Montero) sold in Britain. This is a model from the fourth and last generation built from 2007 until 2018.

Not a reg I would want on my car, but maybe their name is Walker..

I'm pretty sure this is quite late for a first generation model.

Registered in northeast London, taxed and has an MOT till August.

One owner since new.

On my Television - SHOGUN

I picked this up recently. All the items are old store stock condition with sealed parts.

On my Television - SHOGUN

Like the Longhorn, the Shogun is a versatile frame, capable of fielding multiple loadouts.

Here we see the Shogun wielding the real-world equivalents of the blades in its "Precision" ad. Rather than a fusion edge, the K1 and K2 are diamond-edged carbon composite vibroblades. In addition, this Shogun is equipped with two shoulder-mounted single-use rocket-propelled grenades.

This four page ad was put out by Mattel in 1979 to support both of their then-current Japanese-import lines. Three of the pages involve the SHOGUN WARRIORS line. This final page is a full page advertisement for the Popy-based Godzilla's Gang line of figures, sporting different paint Jobs from the released versions.
