I just can't eat one of these again after I found out the raw ones are still alive when you eat them. Blech.
The weighted line is placed on all edges of the net. This helps old the net down over the clams when they are placed in lanes. the net protects them from birds and crabs. The clams stay in the lanes about 2-3 years till they are large enough to eat.
There is hardly anything left of this old wreck buried in the sand at Carbis bay, and it is almost completely covered in these shellfish
