These are TINY shells from Australia. I love them!
Experiment - I might have to do this over again, as it is bugging me at the already!
Beaches are always an inspiration with so much going on on the sand, here two simple shells grabbed my attention

I did this picture before I did my single shell. I got frustrated and quit before finishing, but my husband urged me to keep at it. I did, and then I saw that an Advanced artist had done nearly the same shells! And much better, I might add. Agh! Oh, well, I figured I may as well upload it since I did finish
. I feel good that I did complete it.

Using a Reverse Mount Macro Adapter I turned my 17-85 lens around to capture a macro of the ribs of this shell.
An oceanic embodiment, this work of assemblage has a totemic, talismanic essence.
The shell "tile" is a substantial piece of clam shell found on the Jersey shore, as well as the shard of moon shell which forms the body. The face is polymer clay in a serene and striated form. There are freshwater pearl "fronds" which look like a flashing sea-crown. A dyed amethyst pearl is like a wing, and a white pearl is the jeweled center of this being.
A gold tone metal bail and chain, measuring about 19 inches complete the piece.
