For years I have tried to get a decent photo of the Dall Sheep on top of Sheep Mountain. Unfortunately they have always been too far away for me to get more than tiny white dots - and I am waaaay to old to climb up to their level. When we drove by Sheep Mountain yesterday morning it was snowing like crazy, and I said to my hubby that we had no chance of seeing white sheep, against the white snow. To my surprise - when we hit the bottom of Caribou Creek hill (a steep mountain decline) - there was a small herd of about eight animals. It was as if they were saying; "Here's your chance lady - don't blow it". And as you can see I didn't.

This California Big Horn Sheep has one brown and one blue eye. Under it's chin is a cactus.

I went for a stroll over Pevensey marshes this afternoon. If I thought I could have got close to this sheep, I would have climbed the fence and removed the bramble from her, but me thinks she wouldn't let me get anywhere near her.
