A Sharp-shinned Hawk peers back at us from his perch at Highbee Beach in Cape May, NJ. Photographed on 11/11/08.
Arriving at Reifel Bird Sanctuary, I realized I had forgotten my camera, but since I'm not a bird photographer, I didn't care. Right at the entrance, I noticed this rare vagrant from Eurasia in the flock of Long-billed Dowitchers. He was so close that I was able to take this shot with my phone.
Spotted in Athens, GA US. A winter visitor, the Sharp-shinned hawk is a stunning little example of falconiformes!
