Early morning raid of the bird feeders. He landed 10 feet outside my window and after sitting for a few minutes, jumped into a bush under the window, grabbed a song bird and left to enjoy his breakfast. These photos are not cropped.

The Loyalists under Lt Sheheen and their cart encounter some angry civilians. There was a chance that one of the displaced persons would recognize some of the Loyalists as being involved in removing them from their homes. 1/6 chance of instant recognition, 1/6 that they looked familiar and would cause the civies to follow them for a turn before recognition occurs (that is what happened). The commotion alerted the Rebel militia that something was gong on and on the subsequent turn one of the upset civies ran to the outpost to tell the patriots what was up.

Sharp-lobed Hepatica (Hepatica acutiloba, sometimes listed as Anemone acutiloba or Anemone nobilis). I was surprised at how white these flowers are. Closer to home I usually see the other local species of hepatica (Round-lobed Hepatica), which typically has a purple tint to the flowers, among other differences. Cloudland Canyon State Park, Dade County, Georgia.
