This one is for a true flickr legend Dustin Diaz. Because of Dustin and his awesome 365 project I have embraced off-camera flash and in the process (I'm hopeful) taken my photography to a new level. I have (and still do) spend an inordinate amount of time studying his photos and diagrams. In a very small way my Project Eighty-Five is a way for me to give something back to those just starting out. Thanks Dustin you're a true inspiration! This one's for you. :)

I had my appointment with a physical therapist this morning to find out what I need to work on during pool therapy. My knee that I’ve complained about on here, on Twitter, and when talking to my family is actually unstable & inflamed. Where I can stand for 13 seconds on my right leg without touching my foot to the ground or falling, I can only make it 4 on my left. She measured both knees–the left was swollen. While doing some of the tests, she found a hot, swollen spot behind my knee. She recommended a “stim” treatment1 to ease the pain from the exam. It worked really well & the pain almost completely cleared up for about twenty minutes. The physical therapist also suggested I use the modality room after pool therapy if I ever felt like I was in more pain afterward.
The PT also told me that I was walking “carefully”2 and that I was locking my knees in a hyperextended position as I walked. She said that I probably did that, in part, to prevent injuries to my knees, but it is actually damaging them. The position puts all the pressure on my joints and doesn’t rely on the muscles. It ends up weakening the joint and leads to more injuries. She told me how to fix that on my own. The exercise for that isn’t unfamiliar to me, nor is the hyperextension issue. It was one of my early hypermobile to issues. I had to walk doing plies part of the time to retrain my legs to bend properly.
To anyone who suggested I was a hypochondriac over this or other issues:3
That’s really all that can be said to absolute assholes. If you aren’t experiencing it and you aren’t examining or treating me, then you cannot say, at all, to me that you know that I’m malingering or having health-related anxiety issues. If you don’t know what’s going on or not going on, you aren’t in any position to judge me.
It’s electrical stimulation with a non-portable TENS machine. She put a small piece of fabric around my knee and the electrodes, then a brace-like thing around that. The brace filled with cold water, so that eased some inflammation while the stimulation went on. ↩
She said it wasn’t a limp, but that I walked like I was going to fall. ↩

Not sure which is the best - I couldn't get my white balance how I wanted it... so that made me lean a little bit toward the black and white version....
Taken from underneath, using a glass floor, the plan was to get some interesting shots of the pups. This is one of my favourites!
Strobist info, 3 light set up. Main light 580ex through softbox camera left at 1/8 power, fill 580ex bare at 1/16th power and 580ex high, pointing at the ceiling on full power, Triggered by pocket wizards.
I shall always take pictures of the Sharpes fleet as they always look smart . They bought four coaches to showbus 2018 VWA290L their smart AEC Reliance / Plaxton Elite C53F. Photo taken 30/09/18
This is a hefty radio. Larger than most coat pocket sets but smaller than a "lunch box" portable. It has AM and SW bands. The entire upper slide rule dial is reverse painted which is separated from the anodized aluminum speaker grill by a thin brass band.
Although my photos don't show it well, the speaker grille is navy blue.
It is a nice compliment to the grey cabinet (sometime appears to have lavender shades in certain light) and white dial.
I have also spotted this radio in two other colour options - forest green cabinet with non anodized/non painted speaker grille and white cabinet with black reverse painted dial with non anodized grille.
I found this at a flea market sitting in a pile of junk and dirt.. It took many hours to clean.
Also found under the Coronado brand name with the rather long model number RA50-9907 and as a Truetone DC-3050.
My final visit to Wembley for 2023 was August 12th and the occasion of not 1 but 3 Rugby League finals, with all 6 featured teams travelling the 200 or so miles down the M1. The Women's Challenge Cup final (St Helens vs Leeds Rhinos), Men's Challenge Cup final (Leigh Leopards vs Hull KR), and the 1895 Cup Final (Batley Bulldogs vs Halifax Panthers) ensured a cracking turn out of around 250 coaches with all but 2 of them parking in the Pink coach park.
Sharpes of Nottingham: (3 TYX) a Van Hool T927 Astromega, painted in silver and blue livery with Platinum service branding and captured here parked in the Imperial War Museum's Duxford Airfield site whilst attending the 2011 Showbus event there.

This is a matte remover my husband and I bought to help us care for our Persian cat's impossible fur. It's stored with a plastic guard over the blades. I like how the bit of fur shows up in this photo, illustrating what it's for as well as contrasting with the sharpness of the blades.
This juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk came for a visit on my back fence. A bluejay has his attention and is working hard to get him out of the area.

I am not angelical however. There is a lot of sharpness in me.
I can be as sharp as a knife. I can cut and hurt and with great precision. Don't get on the wrong side of my blade.
But if you cut me I will bleed just as much; as I am human as human can be.
