The large dark bodies along the tide's edge are bulls, some guarding their harems. They come to this beach to mate. They fight for the right to breed. The cows give birth, nurse and mate again. It's their endless story......every Dec, Jan, Feb.

Sharp-shinned hawk (Accipiter striatus) in the back yard. A hawk the size of a jay; a small, slim-bodied woodland hawk, with a slim tail and short, rounded wings. Flies with several quick beats and a glide. Adult has a dark back, rustybarred breast. Folded tail of male is slightly notched or square. Head and neck proportionately smaller than Cooper's. Immature is dark brown above, streaked with rusty on underparts.

The Crown forces had 10 blinds including dummies to begin the game (along with 2 ambush cards). Jim elected to bring them in from all sides which meant that his actions were not very coordinated and rather disjointed. Worked out well for a night game. The Freedmen are coming along the beach and the 3 groups of Light troops are in the center.

Had a flight in a Tiger Moth at the weekend, managed to take one camera with a wide angle lens! ( not a lot of room for anything else)

This shot was kind of hard to frame but I must say this is one of the best looking old chevy model trucks I've seen.

ODC - Sharp

I'm sure you will agree if you've ever cut yourself on one of these things!

"Sharp" - Eventually managed a shot that was as sharp as these scissors... Trying to catch-up on some of the themes I've missed

Here is one of those quick serendipitous grabs that you see while wandering through life that you are likely to miss if you don’t have an “always” camera with you. It was the highlight and shadow of the backlit grass that attracted my eye. I took a few shots at different ev, but I liked this one with the semi-blown sky the best. This was processed through NIK “Viveza 2”, which did a lot to restore the sharp contrasts in the grass that I actually saw.
