I've forgotten the name of the cup, but it's an Italian tradition. The cup is a carved wooden one with a number of spouts, filled with a warm drink to share with friends. In this case it was hot chocolate.
Wen you see a sign that says "Share The Road," they mean share it with other forms of transportation. But for the driver of the Dodge Dart, he thinks that you are supposed to share the road with others in a one lane zone. I can respect the fact the he may be in a hurry. But if he got into an accident, he would be WAY to late to whatever the heck he was going.
The normal highway is just a couple hundred yards away. It seems like he taking it just a little to far...
Plexus Worldwide shared hope, health and happiness with attendees of the 2023 Annual Convention. The Plexus convention was held from June 15th through June 18th at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Ambassadors and their guests were treated to a variety of motivational speakers including keynotes by Alec, Gene and Tarl, John Maxwell, Valorie Burton, and Sara Ross. Musical performances kicked the event off with some of Nashville’s finest musicians and singers!
There were plenty of butterflies (including this Painted Lady), bees and hoverflies enjoying this Buddleia in the rose garden at Dunham Massey.

I'm sure by now the Facebook world has heard my little sister is finally engaged! Freddy said yes after Yeti (Brandon) proposed at our bookshop, where they met. We tricked her into going to the shop on an errand, which she was not pleased about and couldn't understand why it was imperative she go this evening. Later the call came with a giggling ginger on the other line entreating me to come because, "we are ready for you to take pictures Maddie."
Time to plan the wedding!
Oh and in case the being proposed to in a bookstore wasn't enough...Yeti made Freddy's ring. (insert smile)
This weekend was National Alpaca Farm Days, so I went out to the Kaw Valley Alpaca Farm this morning for their open house. It was an amazing experience; the owners let the visitors into the corral with about half of their herd (all females) which allowed for some amazing close-up shots. I got to actually feed some of them, and of course, I took lots of photos which I will be sharing.

We share the bike lanes with other vehicles, too. Pensioners - whether over 65 or those who are forced to retire early - are often given the chance to have an electric scooter to help them get around.

being pregnant and having gestational diabetes- finding things to drink beside water is difficult. I allow myself my morning cup of coffee because i really crave it and I can have a small amount of caffeine but then what do you drink? if it doesn't have caffeine, it has sugar. I can't have either... no juices, no smoothies- even milk has sugar.
yes, I am drinking enough water and my evening "snack" is actually a glass of milk because of the sugar content but there's not much else to drink besides diet caffeine free pepsi (diet coke is pretty gross). finally i found something that tastes pretty good and has no caffeine OR sugar. i can drink this. i have only tried the mediterranean fiesta and tahitian tamure- i like the tahitian tamure better. tastes like punch. it has vitamins and minerals added which is nice, too, but mostly i am happy it doesn't taste diet-y.
anybody else try it yet?

WHOEVER had the bright idea to create Illuminating York should have their name up in lights.
Whoever decides that York’s autumn festival should run for only four days deserves to sit in a dark corner.
No doubt, financial strictures and health and safety requirements necessitate that this nocturnal nirvana should pass as quickly as the life of a dragonfly. So, as we’re all in this together, just make the most of its radiant beauty, surprise and wonder before it disappears with the final curtain for British Summer Time.
The centrepiece has returned to the towering edifice of York Minster, where Patrice Warrener’s The Heart Of Yorkshire embedded itself in the memory and on a thousand screen-savers in 2005.
So much so that those expecting to see the West Front lit up once more should be alerted to projection artist Ross Ashton and sound artist Karen Monid’s son et lumiere installation being on the Rose window and South Transept instead.
The clue is in the title, Rose, an audio-visual celebration of the Yorkshire rose that complements ever-changing imagery of roses and religious iconography with a soundtrack of choral music and poetry testifying to a rose’s symbolism of purity and love.
The sheets of rain and the psychedelic cascade of tumbling white roses are particularly striking but one tip: stand as close as possible to the centre to hear the sound that otherwise drifts on the wind.
You decide whether to see Rose first or save it for last, as nearby in Dean’s Park is a handful of smaller-scale works, a couple of them that may well require you to queue to enter their inner sanctum.
Impossible Theatre’s ChromaVan seats five or six in its warm womb where colours will play off your clothing while a computer will interpret the meaning of your three favourite colours in a twist on reading horoscopes.
Introduced to the festival organisers by Theatre Royal artistic director Damian Cruden, The Ice Book is another inner haven, this one seating eight at a time as a pop-up animated story of an ice-hearted princess luring a man into the woods to warm her comes to life in “possibly smallest show in the world”, made from sheets of paper and light.
Look out for Julia Spall’s panel of stained glass too, but give most time to LightWeight, Impossible Theatre’s new four-metre-high sphere, a luminescent globe, not with a snowstorm, but films of York from the Yorkshire Film Archive and a roving eye that follows you.
