more swans from my visit to Cape May the other day.
I did take a walk today over in Stone Harbor with Larry.
I had to laugh. Several of my contacts have been posting incredible photos from there recently.....all sorts of fun birds.
Today there was NOTHING!
Okay.....major flocks of black backed gulls and a few sanderlings.........and one white heron waaaaaaay out in the middle ot the pond, but that was it!
It was absolutely gorgeous out though, and we had a beautiful walk and had fun picking up shells on the beach.
I want to share this moment with you, it was a calm summer`s evening back in July.
It was warm, the sea was also warm, the atmosphere was clear and bright as the sun had dipped away to the North West and left the moon to gaze down upon me , just wish you could have been there to share the moment with me.
You would have loved it as I did .
Good morning everyone. Just a single "high key" pic of a Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes) and Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) nectaring together on Field Thistle (Cirsium discolor). Taken at Lacey Pond, and while Eastern Tigers were fairly numerous this season Black Swallowtails were quite scarce.

Here's another one of those thousands of photos that I've taken, but never edited or shared.
I was driving from Cape Town to Greyton early one misty morning in October 2015, when I suddenly noticed this little scene presenting itself to me. I slammed on the brakes, reversed a few metres, and then quickly took a few photos (using a tripod, of course). I'd never seen such a perfect combination of sunlight and mist before, so now I'm very glad that I did stop to take this photo.

Rhapsody is my very elderly (26 year old) horse - he is the dark bay. He's hanging out with and schooling the yearling - who is now almost his size! Most of the time they are good friends!
These are Great Spangled Fritillary Butterflies on a coneflower. They aren't mating, just sharing. They were only there for a couple of seconds before one of them flew.
