Cleveland's transit system is setting up some sort of bus-only lane downtown. The bus drivers get these cool shape-based signs. I guess they're intended to keep regular drivers from using the wrong signal.

I am posting 10 images in this upload which will be boring for some, but I like them. The reason I like these, is the artistic points I see in them. I like free flowing lines and shapes and I think these look nice, even though they represent destruction. The way the dead branches reach upwards in a crisscross disarray often set against the late afternoon cloud, appeals to me. This area is close to Finch Bay a few kilometres out of Cooktown.
It was in 2001/2002 in very poor rainfall seasons, that the whole extensive swamp area dried out allowing the salt water to rise towards the surface into the root zone of these splendid, large paperbark trees (swamp melaleucas) - "tea trees" to some. After that the whole area was taken over by many invasive weed species and rubbish trees. The Cook Shire is trying to repair the damage but gets no help from the State Government, but some from the Federal Govt environmental schemes.
I must add this poem that nearly all older Australians will know. One of the top patriotic poems of Australia:- (NOTE THE FIRST 2 LINES OF THE 3td STANZA) (For the non-Australians, the first stanza speaks about England, BUT then Dorothea in Stanza 2, takes her land Australia!

Bubbles Shape
Bubbles came to SL from a small farm in Nebraska, hoping to make something of herself. She is currently a waitress at the Pancake House. She is not the sharpest tool in the shed but she hopes one day to meet a nice smart man, start a family with a boy and a girl baby, and live in a double wide with a white picket fence! She dreams lofty.

Being in a Blue Funk from a creative perspective means that I'll take just about anything and any idea that comes my way. Nature's contours shifting from Winter into Springtime...
A crabapple tree shows nature's contours are shifting from Winter into Springtime. Reminders of the fruit that covered the branches in the Fall are visible in the bare stems and the occasional tiny dried up fruit still clinging to one of these stems.
A gentle painterly style giving an impressionist painterly feel has been been applied in rendering this image.

The Springfield Art Association will host an opening reception for a nationally juried ceramic exhibition entitled Shapes of Influence on Friday evening, August 3rd, from 5:30-7:30 PM. Awards and a gallery talk by juror Simon Levin will occur at 6:45 PM.
The show will be on display in the SAA's M.G. Nelson Family Gallery from August 3-September 1 and features work from over two dozen states and Canada.

One of our challenges was to photograph shapes. These ovals are on the side of Candy Corner at Glen Echo Park.
Not sure how sharp the front will be. I love the look but I guess it's going to be easy to break on a rock or something.

Trying to shape the fuselage into one, with both 2C and NC putty. The P-38 canopy also needs some treatment, since it is rather wide for the small fuselage, but its shape is almost perfect for the Me 334 and it is the option I currently have at hand.
In the background the radiator intake grille for the snout can be seen - a fine plastic mesh has been glued to the frame (an air intake from a Su-25...), so that the cooling fan behind can be seen. Nice detail which rather evolved accidently. ^^
