Simplicity 1624; ©1946; Misses and Women's Beach Tops: Style I: fitted with darts, buttons in front and has a low, shaped neckline. Style II is gathered at the sides and center front. The shoulder straps join to the sides and the band goes around the lower edge and ties in back. In Style III, a strap is inserted through the casing, goes around the neck and ties at the center front. In Style IV, the upper section is fitted with darts. Tie ends join to the lower section and fasten in back. Straps joined to the upper edge tie at the back of the neck.

McCalls Pattern 9550 Vintage Cape, Pants, Vest and Culottes, dated 1968. This includes; Five section cape, sleeveless vest, and dart fitted pants and culottes. Lined cape has arm openings in front seams, darted shoulder seams, and faced collar included in neck seam. Collar, fronts and back are interfaced. Cape may have front closing buttoned part way. When buttons are omitted, fronts are closed at neck with chain closing and cape may be stitch trimmed. Lined, open front vest is trimmed with novelty braid. Pants and culottes have darted upper edges, interfaced waistbands and fly front zippered closing. Pants and culottes are worn with purchased belt.
Quilt top I made using Echino 10" squares and Word Play text fabric. The pattern is from the book Fat Quarterly Shape Workshop for Quilters.

Simplicity 6100; ©1965; Specially sized for Junior Petites 5'1" and under - Junior Petites' Dress or Jumper, Blouse, Skirt and Slacks: Blouse with below elbow length set-in sleeves has collar, back zipper closing and slits at side seams. The A line jumper or dress has V neckline and back zipper closing. The dart fitted A line skirt and slacks have waistbands and side zipper closings.
Simplicity 7627; ©1968; Simple-To-Sew Misses' Jiffy Dress (With Three Necklines): The collarless A-line dress has back zipper and optional self fabric tie belt or purchased belt. V. 1 has low round neckline and short set-in sleeves. V. 2 and 3 are sleeveless. V. 2 has high round neckline. V. 3 has lowered square neckline in front.
These gift tags are made from repurposed manila file folders that have been collaged on one side with vintage sewing pattern packaging. I have a large collection of vintage sewing patterns and love using them to make these tags!
They measure 2.75" x 1.75" and have a piece of vintage rick rack attached. Your tags will be packaged in a cello bag.

spring sewing project #1 = done! this is megan nielsen’s darling ranges dress in anna maria horner’s loulouthi voile (yes, two wonderful and inspiring women combined in one dress!!). i just love everything about this the dress – the waistline, the buttons, the pockets…!! oh, and i love the way the voile flows! and the little pattern booklet is so cute! i just shortened the length of the sleeves and skipped the elastic. wearing this dress certainly puts me in a very very happy mood!!

Two piece dress Straight overblouse buttons below away from the neckline, shaped collar. Extension band extends for looped ends. Above or below elbow length sleeves. Above elbow length sleeves turn back to form short sleeves. Four piece slightly flared skirt.
One piece dress. Very full skirt with circular yoke seaming at hip depth joins bodice at a dropped waistline. Deep round neckline, front and back. Short raglan cap sleeve. Gathered bands set on bodice and skirt are optional.

In Style II the round neckline is lace trimmed and armhole bonds are finished with bows at the shoulder. In Styles I and II a continuous lap forms a back-button Closing and the skirt is gathered. Smocking trims the bodice front. The bonnet is wide-brimmed and smocked. Tie ends join to the brim sides. Transfer for smocking included.
