Seth seems to be rather good with the baby...

Doll: Iplehouse JID Daniel
En/Français
Finally, his name will be Seth.
My 2016 Christmas present ♥
The Daniel was on my wishlist since a loooooong time ago, without beign a priority. But when Iplehouse discontinued a lot of their molds at the beginning of the year, I understood I wouldn't miss him.
DarkDojy truly made an awsome job on his face-up. I love him ♥
------------

Two friends of mine and one of their 'different' engagement photos :)
Seth was an Army Ranger, Elizabeth is a graphic designer and I am photographing their wedding in September. Two VERY interesting people, which one should not read too much into the guns... it was fun thing :)
Strobist info:
One AB1600 camera left, bare reflector bounced onto the ceiling (white)
One AB1600 camera right into a large shoot through umbrella.
Woohoo, this shot is in Flickr Explore from 8/11/08 :)

In the summer of 1886 Seth Putnam and a number of Woodruff, Utah residents pulled up stakes and moved to Auburn, Wyoming. Just months before Seth was arrested and charged with Polygamy in Davis County, Utah. Davis County Prosecutors didn't have a case without the testimony of his wives. Nonetheless, Seth and neighbors had enough harrassment from the Feds and Davis County. He promised law enforcement officials that he would move his family to Wyoming if they would leave him alone. Seth and a few of his neighbors and relatives hastily moved to remote, Star Valley, Wyoming. Seth Putnam's second family included his young wife Annie Tucker, boys Charlie (my Grandpa) and Roy. They settled on land along Stump creek in near Auburn. Putnam built a makeshift lumber mill, forge and a sturdy log cabin. They cut as much of the tall meadow grass as they could for winter feed, gathered firewood, built lean-tos for livestock and prepaired for the first winter. Under the Homestead Act they got a fresh start, but had to leave most of his worldly belongings behind in Utah with first wife Althalinda and the family.
Athalinda and the children from the first family moved to Garden City Utah, near Bear Lake but the couple did not divorce. She stayed there with the kids for several years and Seth visited often and managed to support both families with his sawmill, farming, shoe, blacksmith, cattle, horse and bee operation. The kids from both families travelled back and forth between Star Valley.
Seths first log cabin on the homestead had just two rooms and he and Annie had cramped quarters with the two young sons. Mary Isabell was born the 4th of September 1889 in Auburn. Clara followed in 1894. Seth along with his neighbors pictured here formed one of the first irrigation districts in Wyoming, all the members pitched in and helped dig the canals.
The Mormon pioneers incorporated their own town, Auburn. It's said they all voted on naming the town after Auburn, Maine and was laid out in 1889; one of the first buildings constructed in Auburn was the Rock Church built later that year. Seth Putnam cut the small timbers, he was joined by the Waltons, the Rawlins, The Harrisons, Leavitts, Smiths and Websters all helped build the church which became the hub of the community. Seth Putnam now had a place to call the quadrille dances on Saturday nights and a place to worship on Sunday.
I had just checked the light on a nice graffiti wall in Toronto’s Kensington Market after photographing Kaley (#848 in my project). The light was excellent and I figured if I saw another interesting subject before leaving the Market for home, I would pose them near the wall. He walked toward me on the sidewalk. Ask and you shall be rewarded. His appearance was more formal than is the norm in this artist’s colony neighborhood where dreadlocks and tattoos are more the norm. He also had a face with a lot of character.
I approached him and although he didn’t stop, he did slow to hear my request. People who keep walking are usually avoiding getting tied down to deal with someone they don’t know. Slowing down, however, represents uncertainty - something to be worked with. When I said I could make the photograph in a couple of minutes tops, he shrugged and said “Well, ok.” Meet Seth who told me he was on his way home. He must work nights.
I explained I wanted to use the wall just around the corner as a background and I sense his hesitation again but he followed me and understood my plan. I positioned him and took a quick photo or two and then asked if he would mind removing his sunglasses which he did. I said he dressed well and asked if he always took such care with his appearance. He looked embarrassed and said “Yes. I like to be presentable.” Photo taken he was ready to move on. He said he didn’t need a copy of the photo and declined the card with a subtle smile and was on his way. I asked a quick “Where are you from originally?” and he replied “Ghana.”
Thank you Seth for pausing on your way home to meet and be photographed for The Human Family. Meeting you was brief but pleasant and you did have a nice look on the streets of Kensington Market.

I took a lot of pictures of Skillet at Darien Lake, NY on July 31, 2019. I ended up with over 1,200 pictures when I downloaded them to the computer. So, I'll have to post a bunch of them as I go through them and find the best ones. Here are Korey Cooper and Seth Morrison playing their guitars.
Seth Lakeman performing at Shrewsbury Folk Festival.
Seth is from Dartmoor, in SW England, and has recently been noticed by the media in a big way. Mainstream appreciation for a "folk" artist is very rare indeed. Check him out on iTunes or myspace. His newly re-released album "Freedom Fields" is excellent, but you have to see him live to really appreciate his talent. Not forgetting his band, who are also superb musicians.
