I passed these stones, on the outskirts of Huntly - Aberdeenshire, one day while returning home from work and knew that it would make good shots some day and today was that day! Got some good B&W captures and some colour ones as well. I'll put some more on soon!
Looked on the map to see if these stones had local names or history to them but can't find anything about them. Maybe someone from the Huntly area will have some more info I could add?
The set-up is simple even crude in its appearance. The flash here is closer than when it is in use and the diffuser is on it to show the effect. Exposure and balance is critical and moving the subject backward and forward in the box results in more, or less, fill in. even a half inch makes a big difference.
In the pic taken here the light was set to a lower power than is normally used. Minolta 360px flash set at around ¼ power and at 125th at f32.
Jerusalem, 2005, Nahalt Shiva. The doors has their own identity here. Or is it the personlity of the house that is showen in the doors? They do sets - door and mail box. This one reminded me of a box fool of oranges.
