MISSING ITEMS: Shoes, cap, Bitty Bear cap, flower toy, book

PERSONAL FUN FACT: While I would never wear the sweater that came with this set (I hate fleece like material), I absolutely adore it on my Bitty Babies!!! My guinea pigs would also enjoy this sweater...but not for wearing. They love napping and cuddling on fleece items. Sometimes when my sister holds Penelope, while wearing a fleece hoodie, the piggy will try to climb inside. Definitely would not want my guinea pigs to be near this doll fashion though! I feel so lucky that I managed to get all three outfit pieces from this set at my local flea market. I think they were even all paired together when I got them. The sellers had a bunch of American Girl items that were clearly put together based on outfit (and were insanely cheap). I adore the little heart/flower design on the t-shirt, and how the bottom of it is ruffled. The cardigan is probably the best quality piece from this set though. I love the purple trim which coordinated with the pants!

The top right handstand was one of the most risky, and in hindsight, foolhardy. I was alone way up on Moro Rock as the sun was going down, nearly a mile by trail; I was behind the guardrail; there was ice, and only a narrow spot to get into position with the camera self-timer counting down. One fall and it would have been all over, slipping down that snowbank over a cliff. It's not the best photo but I hope you are relieved I survived. Don't worry; I'm older and wiser now.

Sorry for the bad form on some of these. In the 35mm days, you didn't know how it would come out till you developed the film, and then it was too late for a retake. I also had to depend on friends taking the picture at the right moment.

See my complete Handstands set.

I found these patterned papers by KaiserCraft from their "Rustic Charm" line. The polka dots are "P322 Lucky Country" and the stripes are "P321 Buckleys".

The steel blue, gray, and orange aren't colors I'd normally use, but they are modern and contemporary so I challenged myself to try them. I really like how this set of friendship cards turned out. They are going to a good friend of mine as a set.

Thanks for looking! :-)

Eleventh model in a mini series of Miniland-scale versions of LEGO sets is this Dom's 1970 Dodge Charger from the film 'Fast & Furious'. Again, this car has been released in LEGO form in two LEGO themes,The LEGO version of this car was new for 2022 in the SpeedChampions series, set nr. 76912. And in 2020, this model became available in LEGO Technic, set nr. 42111.

Though the 'Fast & Furious' film series use (and destroy) plenty of cars across the franchise, the one car that remains central to the story is the 1970 Dodge Charger driven by lead Domonic Toretto (Dom), played by Vin Diesel.

Despite being involved in many crashes, this is a car that doesn't seem to die (or just keeps being rebuilt into an increasingly immaculate representation of itself).

Over time the car does undergo some metamorphosis (sometime ridiculous), but is shown here in ts relatively original configuration.

Period Chargers were pretty hardcore though, some versions packing 440 CID V8 engines producing 390 hp.

Dom's Charger, originally built and raced by his father is reputed to produce 900 hp assisted by a sizable supercharger.

Christmas 1956 was a tight time, budget-wise, for my newlywed parents. College students in a garage apartment, they had to be thrifty and resourceful to make ends meet each month. But they did splurge on this little luxury: Mom bought these package decorations at the dime store and used them to decorate their first Christmas tree.

Another set of hand painted buttons.

So when I initially saw the Hero Arts challenge, I was thinking about doing the card set (I eventually did - that's another post), not a gift card set, much less a gift card. The whole 'pocket card' idea just wasn't really clicking with me...that is, until I saw THIS (www.flickr.com/photos/bearpaw14/6442897643/) beautiful card by Lin. Then I just had to try it! Using the Winter Forest digi kit again - so fun!

Thanks for the inspiration, Lin! :)

Big thank you to Sondra Kelly for helping me with this one.

The members in STR are fans of the metal band, The Human Abstract. There is a promo photo that THA did that is very similar to this. Since STR are fans of THA, they wanted to go for that same style, but much darker to reflect (no pun intended) STR's music as sort of a tribute to a band that they look up to.

I'm going to be starting a new photo series on my page called "Extreme Set Restoration". I have a huge collection of vintage sets that I bought from a guy who's crawl space flooded. The very large collection of sets was in it and all of it was under muddy water. I will be documenting the process of restoring and cleaning these sets to their former glory. This set is the start. It is technic 8865 Test Car. I will be taking photos as I go along with the process.
