I made a first set shot for my Brickfilm... How do you like it and do you think it is usefull or crap....because of tiles!

I'm going to be starting a new photo series on my page called "Extreme Set Restoration". I have a huge collection of vintage sets that I bought from a guy who's crawl space flooded. The very large collection of sets was in it and all of it was under muddy water. I will be documenting the process of restoring and cleaning these sets to their former glory. This set is the start. It is technic 8865 Test Car. I will be taking photos as I go along with the process.

This is a LIGHTLY USED maiko tsumami kanzashi set. Tsumami (folded flower) kanzashi are a type of Japanese hair ornament made of tiny squares of fabric. Maiko wear different tsumami kanzashi for every month of the year. This set features Nanohana (rape / canola blossoms) and is appropriate to be worn during the month of March. This set features three pieces; a bridge piece, a side piece without falls (for a senior maiko look) and a side piece with falls (for a junior maiko look). The original value of this set was $390.00, but I am offering it at a huge discount because it is lightly used.
This one uses the bright field illumination technique described in the book "Light: Science & Magic" (p. 154). A 300W flash (set to 1/32th) was fired behind the white acrylic backdrop. The sides were covered with black cloth. The floor is a charcoal colored plastic sheet I used to achieve a visible horizon. The 300W flash was triggered with a Speedlite 430EX on the camera that was bounced by the ceiling (set to 1/8th). To avoid a reflection of the Speedlite it was equipped with a cardboard snoot. The images was converted to b/w in Photoshop, no further adjustments.

Von hinten wird es durch eine milchig-weiße Plexiglasscheibe angeblitzt. Der 300W Studioblitz auf 1/32 Leitung wird durch einen Speedlite auf der Kamera ausgelöst. Der ist mit einem Snoot aus Karton ausgestattet, damit man keine direkte Reflexion des Lichtes sieht. Das Bild wurde in Photoshop s/w-konvertiert. Darüber hinaus ist es unbearbeitet.

This is my macro set-up. Any kind of angle - direction or ajustment for camera, light or subject is possible, dependent of the subjects size. Leds can be replaced by flash lights. Subject can be placed in vertical or horizontal position. Cognysis Stackshot can be monitored.
Another "archive" post, a set all ready to be posted. I just love these guys. . . I guess I'll have to post Magnus' latest "earring" photos after seeing these photos again. Just changing styles a wee bit, lol.
Sometimes I just have a terrible time trying to choose a favorite out of a series of photos. That's when I opt to upload them all. Sorry.

A Millennium train leaves Museum on a Campeblltown service as a intercity V Set sits on platform 2 on the SETS train tour. V sets are a very uncommon visitor to Museum station.
Completing the set of special-liveried spare 'deckers for the evening is 745, seen on Parliament Street with a 58 service which is normally in the hands of Enviro 400 bodied double deckers.

Tough choice for this one as for the first time this holiday the weather was 'set fair' for the day, so I 'set out' to try to emulate one of my all-time fave shots - Wave Rider by Matt Coughlin, without a great deal of success, although I still got some great shots.
Whilst I don't have the crystal clear water or the blue sky and fluffy clouds (Cornwall is not Florida and never will be), I did get a great 'set' of photos, which I'll upload after I get some well earned sleep.
