Sadly, Gilgo Beach is in the news as a dumping ground for bodies. That aside..you'll also find gorgeous beaches, landscapes & serene sunsets.
The abandoned Kokkinoyia mine near the village of Mitsero now forms part of a UNESCO Geopark.
The structure on the right protects the machinery, the centre tower is the mine cage equipment and to the left part of the railway line where the ore-carrying wagons once ran.
Now for a bit of gruesome story telling. A few months back, a keen photographer shooting into the deep and dark well noticed something on his captured images that evening that prompted him to alert the police. Apparently, following an extraordinarily wet winter, the rising waters in the well brought to the surface bodies dumped there by what turned out to be a serial killer.
The mine area was fenced off and remains closed to all visitors until further notice.
Kittens, always so cute...
But...one day...they will become serial killers, preying on any bird, rodent or butterfly they can find.

I know they're only programmed pixels, but I sometimes feel my two SL cats, Serialkiller and Frøken Flink (miss nice), could just as well have been real. Each of them have their own personalities, well reflected in this picture. Frøken Flink has your typical aloof attitude, where as Serial killer is always laying around and making himself seen or sitting at your feet, and if I have a guest he'll be at their feet and wants to be seen.
Both are Jian cats, so unless he's programmed something into them about behaviour they shouldn't have such a consistent one.

What started out as grave robbing soon led to killing innocent people to turn a profit and supply the local anatomy college with fresh corpses for the purpose of teaching .
You start at out landing point and travel around on land and by boat to locations of horror to learn the grisly tale of two very real serial killers ! wander around and discover what awaits around the corner..
