I've wanted to do one of these sequence shots for a while. All things considered, I'm pretty happy with the first attempt.

As seen by the visual Journal, I was inspired by Shanon Bohman to use a cat to demonstrate the fibbonacci sequence. I saw how when a cat curls into a ball, the sequence fits perfectly into the cat. I also wanted the actual sequence in the photo, and so I embedded the spiral into my picture. 7×9. Charcoal on brown paper.

These are from the series Poetry on the Coast.
I shot these in 2003 at 2 locations Bob Straub State Park and in Lincoln City, Oregon.
I have not publicly shown them before.
They were all shot with my Rolleiflex and T-Max 400 film. I did do some corrective work in Photoshop to give them a less contrasty look. I hope you enjoy!
