Well you may have seen quite a few cakes on Flickr inspired by this cake but I thought I'd add the orginal. I've always loved making asian inspired cakes and have included a wedding sari inspired cake on my wonky cake dvd so if you're interested take a look at the video taster on my blog

A few years ago my LUG was going to have a challenge for a show, but the show, and thus the challenge, was cancelled. This challenge was to use the brick separator piece, new or old, as a seed part.
After a few days of planning I thought it would be really cool to make a UFO out of the old brick separator. I only had one problem though, I needed 64 brick separators.
So after years of my LUG helping me collect them, and a great find on cheap, bulk separators on Bricklink, I finally had enough.
So after a few short weeks I designed, ordered the pieces I needed and build this UFO.
Hope you enjoy!
Just joshing around. Pretty much just to fill my photostream with, well, photos.
BTW
i know thst's not a brick separator... ;D
PS
I won't be doing much Lego anymore due to school.
Because I stand a lot of the day and wear steel toe boots, and just have kinda fucked up feet in general, I try to remember to use my toe separators every night before bed. It feels pretty great if you don't leave em for too long (at least until your feet adjust)! I leave them on for 5-15 minutes while I'm reading in bed, and sometimes I'll do an extra few minutes earlier in the evening if I have some downtime in front of the tv or whatever.
I woke up at 6:30 and was just... awake, which was ok I guess since we were having the yard sale at 9. I just read in bed until Jeff woke up, and then we made breakfast sandwiches (and a big pot of coffee for Sarah & me). I started packing up some art supplies, but soon enough it was time to set up for the sale. It wasn't quite as profitable as the previous weekend, but still a surprising number of people for a long weekend! Cass bought us all popsicles as a thank you for letting her sell her things with us. Afterwards, we went for sushi lunch and then Sarah & I brought the leftover clothing, shoes, & toiletries to Wish, and some bedsheets to Sugarbox (they use them as strips for waxing). After an hour or two of video games and reading, Jeff & I went to Mr. Chili's for dinner so I could use my groupon before it expired. I had the most delicious salted lime soda; I wish I could drink it all the time. We had 2 kinds of chicken and garlic bok choy with rice, and walked home as the sun was starting to go down, and it was still warm! Finally, summer is coming. 140/365.

Inspired from the (old) Brick Separator, this building is 880' tall and has 66 floors. Across the river is Separation Plaza which features an arch (I went to St. Louis this past weekend). To the left is the start of Brickville's largest park and will be the dividing line between the north and south sides of the city.

Hello, a little starfighter built quickly some days ago. The idea came when I was sorting the parts from this ship :

As usual check the album for other pics:
This advertisement consists of two die-cut pieces--shaped like a cow and a milkmaid--that have been glued together. For the front of this two-part advertising trade card, see De Laval Cream Separators (below).
"De Laval Separators have revolutionized dairying. All styles and sizes, $50 to $800, farm and factory."
"Nearly 500,000 farmers, all over the world, have found a De Laval Cream Separator the best investment they ever made. Send for catalogue and name of local agent if not stamped above."

A Cream Top milk bottle shown with the separator that was used to pour the cream which would rise onto the top portion while leaving the milk in the bottle.
The Cream Top bottles had a space for the cream to rise into. They became popular in the 1930s and used until the 1940s when homogenization, which eliminates the cream from rising, became common.

From day to day
From hand to mouth
We're turning around
Vicious ritual
Getting used to it all
Falling down again
We're waiting for
The decrees of providence
I don't want to waste
Any more of my life
Live from day to day
Live from hand to mouth
Facing the light
I brush aside your plans
I'm gonna have
It all my own way
And when that all shattered I felt I'd broken my fall
Couldn't pretend that I felt strong about us anymore
Without your help I finally started to live my own life
I just want you to know this time
I just want you to know this time
And when that all shattered I felt I'd broken my fall
Couldn't pretend that I felt strong about us anymore
Without your help I finally started to live my own life
I just want you to know this time
I just want to feel your sigh on my neck
Want to feel your breath, feel your need to stay
You don't know my name, don't know my face
Only thoughts I share in my secret place
Secret exhibition, cure for loneliness
I've ground to a halt, there's no turning back
You know there are things I just can't forget
You've helped me so much to learn to be detached
But when that all shattered I felt I'd broken my fall
Couldn't pretend that I felt strong about us anymore
Without that help I finally started to live my own life
And I know I don't need you now
Secret exhibition, cure for loneliness
Life is much too short to be whiled away with tears
Secret exhibition, cure for loneliness
I erase you now
I don't need you now
I erase you now with all of my past

The poor brick separator still feels unwell; now he is getting prepared for an interventional procedure using a contemporary C-arm with a flat panel detector.
My newest project and first castle creation. Check out the other photos for more details and play features.
Update: if you like this build and would like to see it as a set, head over to LEGO Ideas and like my project, the Old Wizard's Hut by BoyAndBricks. Link to project here: ideas.lego.com/projects/e0009813-6e07-4489-a855-252629749b75 Thanks for your support!
Proof of concept - anything is cute with googly eyes. Even medical machines, brick separators, and giant bricks.
The machine shown is a LEGO replica of the Siemens Gammatron S65, a Cobalt-60 teletherapy unit that was in use in the 1970s (the picture in the comment has more details on this type of machine).
Play features: Rotating gantry and movable patient table.
The brick separator is suffering from brickets, which requires radiation treatment. Dr. Brick is taking care of it.
I had the Gammatron MOC already sitting around, and when I played around with some eyes it became adorable (to me at least).
So I took this as an incentive to build the extra scenario, take some pictures of the whole shebang (with and without googly eyes) and upload them.

Benny takes his new ship, 'The Sea Separator' down to explore an undiscovered alien water world. A planet of red flaming rocks, pink plants and green seas.
I've been working on this moc for about 3 weeks. It came together really quickly after I knocked the sea craft together on Christmas day. Although the colours on the ship aren't completely faithful, I knew from an early stage I wanted to adopt the Classic Space theme for it.

The longhorned separator buffalo (Bubalus separatus) is easily recognized by the distinctive colouring. Orientates mainly by its excellent sense of smell.
