I’ve been kinda obsessed with brick separators lately, so I wanted to make a superhero for Miniland with that theme in mind. We’re always careful about referencing actual superheroes from pop culture in Miniland so we don’t get in licensing trouble, but I was thinking we should just make up our own. His name refers to the fact that Bricklink classifies the brick separator as a “human tool,” but it also fits with superhero names like The Human Torch.

He uses the giant separators on his arms as weapons and shields, fighting crime and separating the guilty from the innocent. He also has one on his head as a helmet/mask, and some smaller ones on his back that are throwing separators, kinda like batarangs. I’m really happy with some of the dramatic action poses he can do.

I’ve had several people tell me he looks very anime inspired, like a character from My Hero Academia or Chainsaw Man, and that’s probably where I was subconsciously taking influence from.

I started building this last September for a STUD Challenge on the MFZ Discord. I finally finished it. I'm not sure how I'm going to attach Systems, probably under the main body. I may have to revisit my Drag Tail frames for use with this somehow.

I've been working on this moc for about 3 weeks. It came together really quickly after I knocked the sea craft together on Christmas day. Although the colours on the ship aren't completely faithful, I knew from an early stage I wanted to adopt the Classic Space theme for it.

The brick separator was the seed piece for LOLUG's February Iron Builder competition. I created this small recon ship surveying an otherworldly ocean on some far-off planet.

Longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world, the entire system covers over 800 metres (2,600 ft) in distance and elevates over 135 metres (443 ft) from bottom to top.

Thanks for viewing, C&C are welcome!

for my LUG's Iron Builder contest, using the orange brick separator as the seed piece (that I picked!)

I nearly forgot to put this one on! The blue square cake turned out to be the most popular cake of the day and I took four orders for it at the Wedding Show. Every bride will change something about it and make it their own. www.miss-ingredient.com

Even these come in special colors :)

I've also seen black, but the price was too high. Any other colors out there?

Or maybe... Brickasaurus Separatas?

was bored and thought I'd make something with the brick separator

A few years ago my LUG was going to have a challenge for a show, but the show, and thus the challenge, was cancelled. This challenge was to use the brick separator piece, new or old, as a seed part.

After a few days of planning I thought it would be really cool to make a UFO out of the old brick separator. I only had one problem though, I needed 64 brick separators.

So after years of my LUG helping me collect them, and a great find on cheap, bulk separators on Bricklink, I finally had enough.

So after a few short weeks I designed, ordered the pieces I needed and build this UFO.

Hope you enjoy!

From day to day

From hand to mouth

We're turning around

Vicious ritual

Getting used to it all

Falling down again

We're waiting for

The decrees of providence

I don't want to waste

Any more of my life

Live from day to day

Live from hand to mouth

Facing the light

I brush aside your plans

I'm gonna have

It all my own way

And when that all shattered I felt I'd broken my fall

Couldn't pretend that I felt strong about us anymore

Without your help I finally started to live my own life

I just want you to know this time

I just want you to know this time

And when that all shattered I felt I'd broken my fall

Couldn't pretend that I felt strong about us anymore

Without your help I finally started to live my own life

I just want you to know this time

I just want to feel your sigh on my neck

Want to feel your breath, feel your need to stay

You don't know my name, don't know my face

Only thoughts I share in my secret place

Secret exhibition, cure for loneliness

I've ground to a halt, there's no turning back

You know there are things I just can't forget

You've helped me so much to learn to be detached

But when that all shattered I felt I'd broken my fall

Couldn't pretend that I felt strong about us anymore

Without that help I finally started to live my own life

And I know I don't need you now

Secret exhibition, cure for loneliness

Life is much too short to be whiled away with tears

Secret exhibition, cure for loneliness

I erase you now

I don't need you now

I erase you now with all of my past

The Developer's Back Split

Here is the link to the video!!

youtu.be/WI-vp3XM2vY

As you walked into this large abandoned back split home at the front you are first greeted by a modern yet ornate front door with various types of glass mounted with separators. From there, there is a skylight above your head in the entry way, you are then greeted by a half staircase in front of you leading upstairs. to the left are the dining and living rooms, the dining room has a chandelier hanging above your head mounted to a decorative stucco ceiling. To the right, the kitchen is covered in a yellow formica counter top, wooden cupboard doors with some containing green decorative glass!! Then as you move toward the back of the home, a steel gate greets you as you enter the large family room and on the back wall a big red brick fireplace awaits you. Hope you enjoy the photos and video!!

Nestled within a mature neighbourhood sits this large back split built sometime around the middle of the century. There are a lot of homes built in that era, usually on large properties with big mature trees that surround the homes. They are often bungalows, sometimes more of a ranch style home, a back split or even a side split but they are almost always brick homes. Today and for the last decade or two, these homes have been bought up for the large property that they come with, some are renovated and the new owners often cover up the brick with stucco or a stone facade for a more modern look. But in most cases they are purchased for the sole purpose of being torn down to be replaced with McMansions. The large plot of land offers the space to build a new large 2 story home with characteristics such as a 2 story portico, 10 foot ceilings, way too many bathrooms and of course a 3 or more car garage with very high ceilings. Another often tell tale sign of these homes is a lack of side facing windows since they tend to be spaced very close together. The mature trees are almost always clear cut and all you are left with is a much smaller lot with an oversized house and a perfectly manicured lawn.

This particular home along with many others in the area was bought by a developer years ago for about half of what would be its current selling price of around $2 million. The homes were bought one by one and then demolished fairly quickly to leave a large plot of land to create a new mini subdivision. Crammed together like sardines in a can these new much larger homes have featured brick in the back and stonework on the front, not unlike the also just as unappealing mullet haircut. Likely selling for $3 - $4 million in today’s crazy housing market.

I quite liked this abandoned house just like many others that were built around the same point in time. Looking very dated on the inside because it seems to be mostly original, which is just the way I like it but still in very good condition for it’s age. A lot of earth tones such as brown exterior brick, red fireplace brickwork and dark brown stained trim throughout the home. A steel gate leading into the living room, an original decorative stucco ceiling in the dining room, tile throughout the kitchen and bathrooms and of course a brick wet bar in the basement.

What do you guys think of this house? Let me know in the comments below!!

A Cream Top milk bottle shown with the seperator inserted, allowing the cream to be poured while the milk remained in the lower part of the bottle.

The Cream Top bottles had a space for the cream to rise into. They became popular in the 1930s and used until the 1940s, when homogenization, which eliminates the cream from rising, became common.

I have this swoosh with the letters on my desk for few months now. I built it after I saw the images of 43008 Nike Dunk set. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the physical parts to build either of my base/ sneakers ideas, so I made them in Studio.

Remark: Provided with this photograph is the following information:

The last thrashing outfit of my father, George Howell of Albion. The big twenty-five horse-power straight flu Buffalo-Pitts engine and the Pride of Washington separator it sure could handle all the grain the two hoe-downs could put thru it.

George M. Howell homesteaded land approximately one mile northwest of Albion, Washington. Howell's farm consisted of 400 acres, which included the North Half of Section 8 (320 acres) and the North Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8 (80 acres), both located in Township 15 North, Range 44 West.

At one point in time, Howell owned the hotel in Albion, Hotel Albion, which burnt to the ground on February 21, 1910, as well as a store retailing farming implements and supplies, also located in Albion.

Howell was granted a U.S. government land patent on the South Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 8 and the North Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8, a total of 160 acres, on June 1, 1882. He received a second land patent on the North Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section 8 and the East Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 8, also consisting of 160 acres, on October 11, 1888. Given that it took at least five years to "prove up" a land claim under the Homestead Act of 1862, Howell was living in Section 8 as early as June 1877.

The Howell farm was located north of where present day [2014] Albion Road and Hoffman Road intersect.

George M. Howell and his household appear in the 1900 U.S. Federal Census for the Guy Precinct in Whitman County, Washington; Guy was the former name of the town of Albion. They are listed as Follows:

George Howell, age 56, born April 1844 in England, immigrated to U.S. in 1848, and occupation is listed as farmer.

Juliette E. Howell, wife of George, age 47, born March 1853 in New York.

Albert E. Howell, son of George, age 24, born August 1875 in Wisconsin, occupation is listed as farm laborer.

Julia A. Howell, daughter of George, age 21, born January 1879 in Washington.

Herbert C. Howell, son of George, age 19, born January 1881 in Washington, occupation is listed as school.

Myrtle E. Howell, son [daughter?] of George, age 14, born December 1885 in Washington, occupation is listed as school.

Rolin M. G.. Howell, son of George, age 8, born May 1892 in Washington.

Alma V. Howell, daughter of George, age 5, born July 1894 in Washington.

John A. Gleason, employee of George, age 26, born June 1873 in Michigan, occupation is listed as farm laborer.

George R. Hart, employee of George, age 31, born March 1869 in Wisconsin, occupation is listed as farm laborer.

George Howell is buried in the Albion Cemetery, his tombstone indicating a date of birth of 1845 and a date of death of 1929. He shares his tombstone with his wife Juliette, who was born in 1852 and died in 1920. Alma V. Howell (1894-1927), daughter of George and Juliette, is also inscribed this tombstone and presumably is buried with her parents.

The 'upside down' cake. 3 tapered, inverted tiers with ball separators. This one presented so many challenges, most of which were a great learning experience. However, the fan of shards on the top gave me a lot of trouble and it didn't look quite as good as this once I drove it along an extremely bumpy dirt road out to the reception venue.

And I've just realised that it looks like it's leaning to the right! It wasn't, that's just my dodgy photography skills!!

Big thank you to all those from whom I sought advice on this one!
