During my recent photo excursion to the Flint Hills of Kansas. I ran across a very lovely cemetery with a unique fence. Image made with a Pentax K 5 with post processing in Silver Efex Pro2.
It is quite fun to pass the time dripping water into a pan and seeing what comes out. I found a piece of gradient paper at the crafts store, and shot the flash into it, the colors that came out I think are pretty wild. The colors are straight out of the camera, no processing involved.
This is a minimalist view of Lake Huron in the winter. In the morning there was snow-covered ice just about to the horizon, but a few hours later the ice shelf had broken loose and began to drift away, with the open water filling the gap. The thin blue line at the horizon is open water at the far edge of the ice. By late afternoon the wind had kicked up and the ice was gone. This is a good example of why one should use great caution and judgement before going out on the ice. Decades ago my father had to be rescued by the Coast Guard when he and others were stranded when the ice on which they were ice-fishing on the Detroit River broke loose and headed downstream.

"The Separation of Church and State"-Abandoned South Dakota.
The near-ghost town of Capa, South Dakota has a population of one. A friendly, and interesting gentleman, Phillip O'Connor owns what remains of the town in the central part of the state. If you are ever in the area, stop in and say hi to Phillip, and sign his guest book, and he may allow you to stay and take a few photographs. Pictured here is a church in the foreground, and the school in the background. in the time since I took this photo, the church has succumbed to a windstorm and collapsed. That is one of the reasons that I photograph these places, you don't know how long these pieces of the past are going to be around.
I was just about to take a picture of Mina and Silver together this morning when Mina's head fell off. The pin has broken, which has happened to me before, but luckily i have spare neck pegs to sort out for her :) Strange as it may sound, i think she looks beautiful without a body! So i thought i'd take a picture of her...
The picture of her and Silver will come later, when she's borrowed a body :D

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Rigg
High Rigg is a small fell located in the English Lake District, approximately three miles southeast of the town of Keswick. It occupies an unusual position, surrounded on all sides by higher fells but not connected by any obvious ridge. This separation from its fellows ensures that it is a Marilyn.
Topography
High Rigg is strictly the continuation of the ridge running up the western shore of Thirlmere, whose high point is Raven Crag. This forms the watershed between the Shoulthwaite and Thirlmere/ Vale of St John systems. The depression between High Rigg and Raven Crag to the south — at only around 550 ft (170 m) — is at Smaithwaite, just south of the A591 Keswick to Ambleside road.
High Rigg resembles a model of the Lakeland Fells in miniature, complete with crags, intermediate tops, tarns and even a 'pass' crossing the ridge halfway along, complete with church. The northern and southern aspects of the fell are largely grassed and gently rolling, in contrast to the western and eastern flanks which are steep with numerous rocky outcroppings and cliffs.
Travelling south to north the main features are Wren Crag (1,020 ft), overlooking the Vale of St John, Yew Crag (1,000 ft) facing west and then two tops at 1,125 ft (343 m) and 1,171 ft (357 m) respectively. The ridge then falls to the 'pass' and St John's church, before rising again to Low Rigg (836 ft). Finally comes Tewet Tarn as the ridge falls away to the river Greta. Also known as Tewfit Tarn, this shallow pool stands on a shelf, overlooked by higher rocks.[1][2]
Geology
The geology of the ridge is complex with much small scale faulting. Gravel and scree overlay much of the fell which lies between two branches of the Coniston Fault, with the plagioclase-phyric andesite lavas of the Birker Fell Formation beneath. Low Rigg exhibits intrusions of microgranite to the surface.[3]
Summit and view
The summit has a cairn set on an outcrop and commands a fine view of the surrounding fells. The giants of Skiddaw and Blencathra dominate the view to the north, and Clough Head and the Helvellyn range the view east. Thirlmere is visible to the south and Bleaberry Fell to the west, over which the Scafell group can be seen on a clear day.[4][5]
Ascents
The hill may be climbed in a short twenty-minute walk from the Church of St John's in the Vale. It only involves about 120 m (400 ft) of climb and is one of the shortest ascents in the Lakes. Alternatively, a traverse of the fell's three mile (5 km) long ridge may be made, starting at Tewit Tarn and finishing near Shoulthwaite.[

The planet’s biggest and most powerful wind turbines have begun generating electricity off the Liverpool coast, cementing Britain’s reputation as a world leader in the technology.
(circa 2017)
Danish company Dong Energy has just finished installing 32 turbines in Liverpool Bay that are taller than the Gherkin skyscraper, with blades longer than nine London buses. Dong Energy, the windfarm’s developer, believes these machines herald the future for offshore wind power: bigger, better and, most importantly, cheaper.
The Burbo Bank Offshore Wind Farm is a 348 MW offshore wind farm located on the Burbo Flats in Liverpool Bay on the west coast of the UK in the Irish Sea. It consists of an original 90 MW wind farm commissioned in 2007 and a 258 MW extension completed in 2017.
The wind farm was developed in the 2000s by SeaScape Energy, which was acquired by DONG Energy (now Ørsted A/S) in 2005. A 25 turbine installation using Siemens Wind Power 3.6 MW turbines was constructed from 2005, and officially opened in 2007. A further 32 8 MW turbines were constructed in 2016–17.

Test foto(s) with my newest "toy": Leica IIIa with Summar 2/50 mm. The Leica is in very good condition, but the lens really shows its age (73 years!!) The front element has massiv cleaning marks and inside the lens separation has started ... Nonetheless the results are really good! Especially the bokeh of the lens is fantastic! Photography with this camera and lens gives me a totally different feeling than with with modern gear - I loved it from the first moment....!
