I am coming to terms with the fact that I am truly a night person. The idea for this image came to me literally at 2 a.m. when I was just looking through scanned negatives from some rolls I had shot for my photo class this fall quarter. I had also completely forgotten about the "You Want Some Of This?" juried (by Keith Boadwee) art competition and was needing a third image to submit. This would be the one!
After entering the upper atmosphere, the two rocket boosters separate from Atlantis and drop into the ocean.

The white masonary on the right is the porch foundation. The brick pier on the left supports the house. These were aligned before the storm.
I thought the house's piers moved because of the flood, but Ivan, the structural engineer says the wind literally shifted the house on its foundation so that now it sits crookedly on the piers. Holy smoke!
It will cost a small fortune to fix this and it's not clear at this time whether or not insurance will pay for it. The first bid for the job? $40,000
