Most Palestinian residents in East Jerusalem only have a residency permit.
Between 1995 and 2000, the Municipality used this tool to meet its demographic objective: Palestinians who were unable to prove they had lived in the city in the past and continued to live there were compelled to leave their homes forever.
The shortage of building permits in East Jerusalem prompts many Palestinians to live outside the city's borders, which compromises their chance to return to Jerusalem in the future... And facilitates the colonization process in return.
Artwork 4 - Separation.
This artwork is inspired by the landscape of central Australia and is made of red oxide concrete. On the northern side of the artwork small holes have been drilled forming the shape of Australia. The holes provide an opportunity for people to leave messages recording their experience or thoughts on the issue of the separation of children.
Words describing aspects of the experience are also incorporated. These appear in the form of direct quotes from those who were taken, their carers and others involved. Behind the steel panel is a movement-activated speaker from which the song 'Took the Children Away', written and sung by Archie Roach, can be heard.
Reconciliation Place, A place which recognises the importance of understanding the shared history of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, and which reaffirms our commitment to Reconciliation as an important national priority.

A couple of outtakes from my attempts to get a close macro shot of a water drop from a faucet.
A few more outtakes (of a self-portrait nature) in the comments of this shot.
