I am coming to terms with the fact that I am truly a night person. The idea for this image came to me literally at 2 a.m. when I was just looking through scanned negatives from some rolls I had shot for my photo class this fall quarter. I had also completely forgotten about the "You Want Some Of This?" juried (by Keith Boadwee) art competition and was needing a third image to submit. This would be the one!

When I accidentally walked in on Kevin's ordination, Ashin Pyinnya Thiha was in the midst of telling him he could no longer contact his wife. Because last year an American monk left to study in Yangon, I didn't realize Kevin's situation was only temporary. So when I gently asked the couple if the monkhood had been a difficult decision for them, I was taken aback when they replied with surprise, "no, it actually made so much sense."

There was a contest to design the yearbook cover. I immediately had this idea because everyone could relate. So I went home and drew my Levis Featherweight Bellbottoms. (My favorite pants back then, and they still fit!) With color separation, of course.

See what some of my peers said about this cover on Facebook. (If you can't see this, try "interested in" the event?)

Day 180-Took this at lunch today. It was rainy this morning and the sun did eventually come out (but not without a cold front coming too).

Worked all day with my slides for my dissertation and had to make 2 trips to wallyworld to get an HDMI cable to plug into my computer to use at my mums office to use her projector while I was adjusting my slides (I wanted them to look good and the only way I know how is to see it projected rather than on the regular screen).

Got the first half done that my chair and I talked about, to slide 75 and got home exhausted.
