As soon as I seen this I instantly thought the padlock was a symbol of separation, the padlock confirms that once a loved one is gone you can't get to them, they are locked away from you. you want to get in so badly but you can only get so close, The flowers on the gate to me say I will do anything to let you know I love you and miss you, I can't get to you but I'll leave my love as close as I can get.
