For the snack in Home Ec, each of the girls received:

- Grapes for LOVE

- Orange slice for JOY

- Pear slice for PEACE

- 2 slices of bread for FAITHFULNESS

- 2 apple slices for SELF-CONTROL

They just looked at the following:

- Pumpkin for PATIENCE

- Indian corn for KINDNESS

- Squash for GOODNESS

- Gourd for GENTLENESS

The girls really enjoyed this lesson and snack. They couldn't get enough of the grapes, liked the pear (it wasn't the standard Bartlett pear that they were use to eating...this one had red skin instead and none of the girls had ever head a "red pear" before), and wanted more apples.

The whole-wheat bread...well...they ate it, but no requests for seconds.
