Karl started Karate just before his sixth birthday. In a little over five years he's progressed through 10th Kyu (Blue Belt), 9th Kyu (Orange Belt), 8th Kyu (Red Belt), 7th Kyu (Yellow Belt), 6th Kyu (Green Belt), 5th Kyu (Purple Belt), 4th Kyu (Purple & White Belt), 3rd Kyu (Brown Belt) and has has just successfully achieved 2nd Kyu (Brown & White Belt). The second activity we did in Home Ec that was focused on Thanksgiving was a "Fruits of the Spirit Cornucopia."
I read about this in a book called "Homespun Memories for the Heart" by Karen Ehman, and modified it for the class.
Gave each of the girls a recipe to make a pastry cornucopia at home, and then I did the lesson and snack. You can read more about it on my blog. The link is above.

Abstinence aka Self-Control (opposes gluttony) - Constant mindfulness of others and one's surroundings; practicing self-control, abstention, and moderation.
I really want to eat something, but I saw on Oprah that you should pick a time at night (approx. 2 hours before you go to sleep) when you stop eating... it's after 10pm, I'm sticking to water tonight!
