My Parents Made Me Fat

What do I mean when I way our parents made me fat? Well, I look at my own life. I had obese parents. I was obese, and my children were starting to become obese.

I had to realize 100% that the responsibility relied on me. Everything that I did, the food I put on the plate, the food I didn't put on the plate, the exercise we did, the exercise we didn't do, it was all 100% on me.

There comes a time in our life when we need to be responsible for what it is we're doing and understanding that everything that we do affects our kids, affects our children, affects our lives, affects everyone that they come in contact with. And so when we are responsible, then it no longer is my parents made me fat. It's I made me fat. When you can take ownership of the fact that it is your choices, your responsibility, not only can you embrace them, you can change them.

See, if someone else made you fat, there's nothing you can do, but if you made yourself fat, you can change that. If you chose to be fat, I know that may be rough, but if you chose to be fat, you can also choose to be fit and healthy.

Understanding that your value, your self-esteem, everything that comes from, is your responsibility. And when you're able to understand that, your parents no longer made you fat.

Let's face it, some people can just stand out in any crowd. And this woman obviously does. Not exactly sure what it was, I tend to think it's her stance and walk that set her apart here. Perhaps self confidence?

Halloween Plus One + Halloween + 1. at ABT - A Future US Presidential Candidate... Or an Astronaut. She has the right stuff

This little dancer told her Mom it would be just fine with Miss Megan and Miss Cecily if she wore her Halloween Costume to dance class the day after Halloween. And, you know what? She was right. Arizona Ballet Theatre is giving her a great start! I predict that she will encounter no glass ceiling in the career of her choice... She may be President!

Turns out Miss Cecily had told everyone they could continue to wear their costumes to Class. She was the only one who did... I would not have had the courage when i was little. Now? Maybe...

The worst part of not having a sex life is the pathway/process of getting to the point where you realise that you do not need to be having a sex life to live a normal, happy, fulfilling life!

Once you reach that point, not getting sex sure still feels wierd as a mature adult surrounded by people who are in full blown romantic erotic intimate rewarding relationships wanting you to be social with them and knowing that for your own personal reasons you find everything about sex and intimacy really awkward and probably have been burnt before. The sexual desires are there, but knowing they are unlikely to ever be realised becomes unimportant.

The despair/bitterness/etc. of thinking everyone else gets to have great sex and fabulous intimate partners and you don't starts to go away. Eventually you get over it and if you get sex that's nice but if you don't that's nice too. It's as though you and the world you live in are permanently sexually disconnected.

That's where I am, even though I feel not having a magical partner limits the sort of values I can demonstrate to my daughter so she has a good well-grounded approach around relationship ethics when she eventually goes down the rabbit hole associated with puberty, self-sexual discovery, etc.
