I tried Canon 100mm 2.8 IS USM Macro lens, I took a picture of myself, I believe that the lens works very well
Just got some new lighting equipment and wanted to test it out. Unfortunately, I was the only one around who could pose for the camera.
I normally can't stand photos of myself, but I actually don't mind this one. My house has this wonderful morning light and I wanted to capture something other than the lamps or the sofa.. Taken with the amazing Panasonic Lumix LX3 at 80iso...my go to camera.
I needed a self portrait as an iPhone photographer so I used it as a opportunity to play down the camera and present the iPhone as a phone.
The setup for this was a little complicated. I stood on a small stool in my bedroom with my head almost touching the ceiling and used 1 clamp light coming from below for the light source. I then took through the viewfinder of my Seagull Medium Format camera that was laying on another stool facing up at me. I positioned my Canon 20D on a tripod so that I would take a picture of the actual viewfinder of my Seagull, so that I would get the grid effect, as well as the grainy look. I converted the image to B&W, turned down the brightness, & cropped a little from the left side of the image in Photoshop. I like the dark feel to this - it's almost as if you can't tell I've gone under 4 months of chemotherapy. I did this in a hurry, I would like to redo it and make the grid straight.

I dyed my hair last night (with Laurren's help) so I'm trying to not wash my hair for as long as possible so it will LAST.
That's why you can't see my hair and I look bald. Don't worry, I'm not. Hahaha.
Putting the final touches on a painting that is soon to be delivered. There will be a lot of late nights in the coming week. But, let's face it: this is when my best work happens.
~
A little bit about the painting: This is "Peanut," a sweet little Chihuahua who's walked a rough road, but once she was adopted, found love of the best kind. Dogs are such complex and beautiful beings. We all are, really. Painting just gives me the deep spaces of observation to notice.

Reflection in a window at night - the doubling comes from the twin reflections from the double-glazed window. Fuji X-T1 and Canon FL 85mm f/1.8.
Last summer I went on a self-portrait binge at the beach with Aunt Mary. I like this one because I'm not trying to look distant and sexy. I'll take recent ones eventually, I swear.
