Another self portrait from the occasional 2013 series ... produced on iPad and Photoshop ...
I haven't tied myself down to a number of self portraits this year but can't abandon doing them after four years ...
My first shot for 2009.
Had nothing better to do tonight, so tried experimenting with some lighting. Been a while since I tried a self-portrait, so here's my ugly mugh.
Strobist info: Nikon SB-800 to camera left fired through umbrella, SB-600 background light, SB-200 for hair light.

concept: i don't really like colors, but i like green and brown, so i chose the forest where i played as a child, wearing a long black dress because black in my favorite color. the camera stands for my passion for photography, i am interested and curious in everything that have to do with photography and multimedia arts. in the third picture i chose to hold a globe in my hands, painted with the milky way and star constellations, standing for my demand to travel all over the world and my interest for the universe.
This shot was awhile back, strictly for retouching practice.
Strobist: 1 x SB28 into apollo 28" softbox above and slightly camera right. 1 x SB600 into a apollo micro softbox below and center for fill.

as always, i did the self portrait before henna-dying my hair and microtrimming this weekend. guess i will have to do another self potrait on sunday.

I really hate having my picture taken but decided one evening to see what I could create and this is what I came up with. Since I like to read I took the photo with a book by Dean Koontz, my favorite author.
So, maybe using a 50mm lens to take a self-portrait is NOT a good idea. On another note, my bangs looked good, no? :)
