A self portrait I took with my new favorite shirt on, a shirt I bought at Roger Waters' The Wall concert in San Jose on December 7th. This one is in color because the light from the flashlight (which I had because there is no light on this floor of US Bank Tower) didn't look right in black and white.

The two pictures fit together so well, hehe

Shot with the 400D as i find it much easier to use the infrared remote (RC 6) than the wired remote shutter release on my 50D. Window light and a 50mm Lens.

*Edit: I created a set called memories as a catalog of important events documented in photographs.

I painted this self portrait as a quick addition to my portfolio for Carleton University... Only took a few days, but I think it captured my sort of... aesthetic personality at that point in time. Colours weren't important so I usually only stuck with primaries, I liked geometric tesselated triangles because there was a seemingly endless combination of them that can create a semblance of form.

Materials: poster paint & gouache

Size: 8.5" x 11"

this here image is a self portrait i just took with no flash under a red light.

Practicing my self-portrait work. Who says I need to do a 365 project?

For the black & white group.

trying out my nifty 50 Minolta lens for portrait photography - best I try on myself first :-)

That's me thinking of different ways to take a self-portrait.

Had to include the hand.

I have to be honest - I would much rather be behind the lens than in front of it but I needed a photo for my website so I bit the bullet and did an 'at arms length' self portrat using the natural light available from my kitchen window.

A few months ago I had long hair and decided to cut it for summer and because it is so much easier to care for. It is still a little strange to see photos with my short hair but I'm growing to like it. I re-trimmed my fringe and sides two days ago despite the fact they are a little short I think it works. Not quite a 50's style but I wore my black and white polka dot dress for the occasion. Me? In a polka dot dress? It was the only dress I could find that I liked and I bought it despite the polka dots but I'm also strangely warming to them. I guess its like avocados and olives... the first few times you try them you screw up your face in distaste but after a while... they grow on you :)

Bored at 3AM good time for a funky shoot :P

A self portrait taken at my office at work and featuring some of my handy reference materials.

For the PlanetCrap Flickr Group assignment.

when i got home for summer i had the idea to take a picture of myself with my crazy hobo hair/beard and to take another pic after i cut it all off and meld the two together. i finally got around to doing it this fall but then i messed up in photoshop and couldnt undo my changes, so i got pissed and just kept going with it, and i ended up with this. pretty much sums up my typical work process.

also, i realized when i saved that the file name is 0777, which basically means it's the money shot

There are many stories hidden in this self portrait.

This is not a real self. My daughter took this shot, when she was 4 Jears old. She is talented!

Self portrait made with a Canon 550D and 1 YN 560 into umbrella. Postprocessing in Photoshop.

One of my favorite Self Portraits from my Self Portrait Project.

Enjoying a pint at the Hull Beer Festival in the Horncastle Building, Hull College. Taken with Sony Ericsson K810i floorcam on timer. Put through Photomatix to create faux HDR from a single original JPEG, slight rotation and crop in Photoshop, followed by conversion to monotone.
