onset of spring.. colours all over.. from flowers to birds.. things seems so dreamy land.. huh.. now i am talking like a girly gal... eeee i hate it... anyway two days to go.. Dol.. on its way to get prepared.. to celebrate it in its complete mood.. :) advance happy holi... :D
"Self" is about so much; it has many aspects. For this weeks theme I choose to focus on a current graphic design pattern that has caught my attention; trees that are pruned to have a stubby like look to the branches, and the layering of these photos with ones taken of mySELF.
This is from my first ever batch of photos with strobist gear.
Strobist: Single 430EX at half power into soft silver umbrella, f/5.6 @1/60

Strobist: Much like the diagram; tiny softbox on 430ex high and camera right, shoot-through umbrella with 580exII high and camera left. Both about 6.5-7' away, with similar power.
A little Photoshop to desaturate and enhance detail. Speedlights just don't have the watts to shoot f22 like Olaf.
Flickr is doing a terrible thing to the shirt texture on resize, see the original size.
Heavy post on this one in both lightroom and photoshop. I'm still not sure if I like this one. It was the only one of the day that worked out.

A simple two light portrait. The main light is a speedlight modified with a shoot through umbrella, 45˚ at camera right, triggered with a sync cable. Fill was provided with an unmodified speedlight next to the camera.
This project was based on myself and what make me me. I have a chest deformation called 'Pectus Excavatum' which is a depression in my sternum. I therefore looked into ways in which I could bridge or fill that gap using materials such as glass, clay and pewter.
I had to do a series of self portraits for my photoshop class. I had some fun with it. I could've fixed some of the experiments up a little better, but I wasn't in the mood. maybe later I'll make them look a bit more fabulous. Enjoy. =D

Diff after sand blasting clean, natural finish. It takes bags and bags of fine sand using a domestic sandblaster. The drive looked like a beach after I had finished cleanning up this and the rear suspension trailing arms!
I have subsequently changed the diff from a 3.62:1 diff to a 3.38:1 diff to get longer gearing with the 2.5 litre BMW straight six engine
