Shot using a Lomo Lubitel 166U and a Holga Close Up lens on Arista EDU Ultra 100 film. Shot at around 3200 ISO then developed in Dektol at 1:4 for about 5 minutes.

Elinchrom 250 camera left softbox 1/4 power
Reflector camera right (actually gridded paper on an easel)
Hair light, SB26 gridded 1/4 power camera right behind subject (high pointing down)
Background light, SB800 1/8 power behind subject pointing at wall
Background - just black textured paper
Focus is a bit off the eyes when viewed larger, but... it's a self portrait, and the focus is in acceptable range.
Self portrait. Mirror shot, f/4, 23mm. Desaturation, overlay, multiply, shadow and a custom starfield and horizon.
I really don't like having my photo taken, even when it's me on the trigger. :/

This originally had mascara running down my cheeks but I decided I liked it better without.
I need to work on my retouching skills. My skin is not that blotchy.
this is all my evening consisted of. more sitting, more editing, more texting. and now it is all done and im going to crawl into my cozy little bed.

I need some practice...
Strobist: one SB-24 at full power for the background, one SB-800 @ 1/16 through white umbrella, camera left. Cactus triggers.
I have never actually tried to take a self-portrait before, so this is my first attempt! It is very difficult to look at myself in picture form when I know I took the picture! I don't know why! Ahhhhhhh!
Today's selection from my facebook archives are all Red Backed Shrikes. I found this one on the walk back to Crail from Fife Ness after a fairly uneventful day's birding but after putting news out and getting a few photos of what was a quite wary bird I had to hurry off to catch my bus back home.
