Parallel with searching for external ideas, I have also been driven by a sense of curiosity and wish to find out more about my artistic inclination. I am hoping that this will help me to slowly develop an individual approach in art and architecture. I look into myself and let my hand draw freely to trace accurately the landscape of my mind.

Final Project: Triptych
Self Reflection:
In my opinion, I feel like I put a good amount of time and effort into this triptych and conveyed the message of my love for the sport in th fact that its relaxing for me and I spend a good amount of time everyday just juggling the ball at home. I spent a few days of shooting trying to get the right angle and position of the ball in my shots. I used a variety of techniques such as worms-eye view and used depth of field to have the soccer ball as the main point of focus in all 3 shots and accentuate its importance. In terms of editing, I decided to make this picture in black and white and allowed for there to be a high contrast in color from black to white. This was a challenging experience, and I feel like I learned a lot from it because I had to use techniques that I wasn't very adept at. All in all, it was a rewarding experience.
La fresque Self Reflection (Autoréflexion) est une œuvre d'art urbain en trompe-l'œil réalisée en juillet 2025 par le célèbre street-artiste utrechtois JanIsDeMan.
Située le long du canal de la Vaartsche Rijn, elle donne l'illusion saisissante d'une théière géante en porcelaine qui émerge de la brique.
Concept et Inspirations
L'hommage à M.C. Escher : L'œuvre s'inspire directement du travail sur les perspectives et les miroirs du célèbre artiste néerlandais M.C. Escher.
L'autoportrait moderne : C'est la toute première peinture murale de JanIsDeMan qui représente une figure humaine. Dans le reflet de la théière, on aperçoit l'artiste lui-même en train de se prendre en photo avec son smartphone.
Détails ultra-locaux : Le reflet sur le métal et la porcelaine intègre les éléments exacts du quartier au moment de la création. On y distingue les façades de la rue d'en face (Westerkade), la silhouette de la célèbre tour de la Cathédrale d'Utrecht (Domtoren), et même un hélicoptère qui passe dans le ciel.
L'anecdote de quartier : Fidèle à sa démarche participative, l'artiste a utilisé comme modèle une véritable théière prêtée par l'un des habitants du voisinage.
Emplacement exact
L'œuvre a été peinte sur une façade autrefois grise et unie, transformant radicalement l'atmosphère du carrefour.
