A photo serioes of self portraits taken by my friend Nick Larson. This is a depiction and representation of diving deeper into myself. A conceptual thought process of who I am.
More goofing around in my loo. Don't know why I'd want to spend so much time in there as it's pretty small.
Just having fun.
How often does a person look at their reflection with an honest eye? It is easy to focus on the qualities that enhance our selfishness, to crop out the unwanted periphery. We blur the ugliness inherent in us, and present an image of flawless beauty that could only be developed in our own minds. Only when you look beyond the reflection, at the blemished soul with all of its glorious imperfections and beautiful faults, will you see a picture of honesty. Only when you embrace the truth of your own image, can you begin to create a portrait of unselfish beauty...
For Flickr Group Roulette challenge, Self Reflections.
I wasn't counting on doing this FGR challenge because I didn't feel any direction I can approach this. And now that I did this, well I don't know. I can see myself going in so many life directions but where to go. Do I just surrender to my aunt's place in the Philippines to admit failure? Do I continue hitting brick wall's trying to find a job and make myself useful to someone? Do I this, do I that...what do I do? Where shall I go?
I'm sorry for rambling but the random directions I'm seeing in this photo kinda set that off. I'll deal.

The idea of getting film developed makes me giddy like Chirstmas Eve. I get some back tomorrow!
I was toying with all sorts of ideas today, and nothing seemed to be working out. So as I was cleaning my lcd screen, I saw my reflection, pulled out my trusty piece of crap Kodak DX7630 and snapped this. Not the highest quality, but I like it :-)
Terumasa seemed to be constantly in a state of self reflection, choosing not to speak much and regularly looking within.

Flash, double glazing. Hoping to get the same effect as my "Magic Ball" photo, but it failed. Still a good experiment though,
This is what was on the 1947 Chevy Police car I posted. I love these old caps. Yep, that's me in the reflection.
Jason Miller creates his conceptually driven images in-studio, Memphis, TN. Miller is interested in making imagery that deals with human subjects interrelating and communicating through archaic 20th century artifacts. He works both in single imagery as well as grand format digital montage. Historical topics including Memento mori, Vanitas, and a self-reflection on modern human inventions of communication paired with mirrors and symbolism are placed in communion with the use of chiaroscuro, thoroughly considered custom museum dioramas, and highly detailed photographic based renderings. .
.
No images, mediated or otherwise, are used that do not first pass directly through Millerâs camera. The goal of the photographically created images is to transcend being merely esthetically pleasing in order to arrive at a materialization of the underlying thought process. "My work is designed, from conception to final presentation, to lay bare the struggle and chess play behind my process.".

self.
reflection.
in the afternoon light.
it's been cloudy for a few days now,
and I'm starting to miss
feeling the sunlight
on my skin.
Had a go at a reflected self portrait with a mirror leaning against the window to use the available light.
