Artificial blurring of the foreground or background to create dramatic effect. It did a particularly good job here of separating the fern from the rest of the almost completely green scene.

I was roaming around in central park when i saw the most wonderful street performance...that guy was performing an opera....n it was amazing.....i listened to him thrice.......this girl was absorbed in listening to him dreamily.i will post the pic of that guy later on:)
