Sooty

We have been together now for nearly ten years, more than many marriages, she ignores me sometimes, just like I ignore her. But we have a bond.

Yes, football season is back once again and Chucho is of course playing. He's not quarterback this year, and he's come a long way from his YAFL days. Doesn't even seem like the same person. He's all of 6'1" now and wanted to be a receiver and play more defense. So what happened on the season opener? Oh, the usual... He got an interception and ran it back 80 yards for the opening score. He's just got that knack for outshining them all. Haha. Here's to a great Sophomore season. Go, Cougars! Go number 1!

Heerios: Selective Coloring

Li'l Woodzeez Hair Salon and lalaloopsy ice cream stand

My second attempt at selective color.

This shot was taken from a moving car on Washington State's Highway 2.

At loch of the lowes near Dunkeld.

Shot on 35mm film and developed by spraying on developer with a paintbrush allowing only selected parts of the image to come through. I have noticed that all my dark room shots are of these glass paper weights, Somehow I never get bored of shooting them :)

Self-Assignment - finding a hint of color in an object or subject - in-camera rather than in post production.

Week 10 - Vision : Selective Color.

One of my most heavily edited picture (only in Lightroom). I wanted some texture in the sky, so had to darken it, but still wanted to keep the yellow of the crane, which did not "pop" any more if it was too dark. So I tried several thing with the brush... Using the auto mask was no good on the small details of the crane, leading to white borders. I tried to correct the white borders with an orange brush, but it was no good either. I finally resorted to a big brush with a big feather setting, coloring the sky, but keeping the crane in the fringe. Then used a small brush to highlight some part of the crane again. The sky still feels a bit unnatural though...

Went down to Nolin lake last weekend with my brother-in-law and our two friends Keith and Brandon. I just bought a Rokinon (Samyang, Bower, whatever) 35mm 1.4 and this was the perfect weekend to play with it!

Love that title for some reason... Another one from the attempted sunrise shoot. Didn't like the color or the black and white, so I compromised and I love it.

Was a good pic to mess around with selective colour, pretty happy with the result was quite tricky really!

This self-portrait was used for Selective Color, obviously. However, I had a bigger issue in mind when shooting. I was looking up women's rights and dates of sufferage all over the world. I knew that women in Saudi Arabia have next to no rights but their expected sufferage date is 2015. Although I do not think that is plausable I wish to support their freedom.

Just an experiment with photoshop and selective color.

I've just installed Adobe Lightroom and am trying to work out how to use it!!
