A selection of photos put together in a grid. These were taken as part of a project exploring the body. I focused on its differences and simalarities-for example finding scars, blemishes and different muscles/bone structures in a range of individuals.

There were several types of mammoth, all members of the elephant family. Most widespread was the Woolly Mammoths, which ranged across all northern continents and grew a very long, thick, hairy coat to keep out the bitter cold of the recent Ice Ages.
The woolly mammoth was roughly the same size as modern African elephant. Males reached shoulder heights between 2.7 and 3.4 m (9 and 11 ft) and weighed up to 6 tonnes (6.6 short tons). Females averaged 2.6–2.9 metres (8.5–9.5 ft) in height and weighed up to 4 tonnes (4.4 short tons). A newborn calf weighed about 90 kilograms (200 lb).
The woolly mammoth coexisted with early humans, who used its bones and tusks for making art, tools, and dwellings, and the species was also hunted for food. It disappeared from its mainland range at the end of the Pleistocene 10,000 years ago, most likely through climate change and consequent shrinkage of its habitat, hunting by humans, or a combination of the two.
The teeth of a mammoth consist of a series of plates composed of enamel surrounding a dentine core. These are held together in a matrix of dental cement.
Each tooth erupted from the back of the jaw and slowly moved forward as it wore, to be replaced by another tooth from behind. The thickness and number of tooth plates are important identification criteria.

it may look like just a circle.... but it is actually several segments (9 to be exact) that were cut using the table saw and then glued together ^^ The only rings that werent cut in segments are the ones used in the lids.
the segmented rings were used to build the bowls of my contact lens case.
the method used to build these bowls was engineered/designed by my art teacher Mac McAvoy and his daughter who is a math wiz ^^

I didnt have to use a planer on my project since it was MDF.... instead I used the random orbital sander on it after gluing the segments together.
Mac's floor globe is a bit wider than my contact case. But since I made two bowls that were significantly smaller, a lot of adjustments to the method were made.

Started building last semester.... nearly finished! Just have some final gluing (lids), sanding, sealing, more sanding, painting, and then possibly will be making a contact also if I have time :)
A lot of calculations and planning went into this... and I had plenty of set backs and also had to adjust plans/patterns/measurements multiple times, sand areas where things didnt line up right etc.
Even thought it has been tough, I've enjoyed every minute of it ^^

The segment of O’Connell Street in Dublin between College Green and Parnell Square is lined with grand commercial edifices, a physical manifestation of the street being the commercial heart of the city. Most buildings along the length of the street date to the Victorian period, with some Edwardian and Georgian structures mixed in. The diverse architecture of the street includes buildings in the Neoclassical, Classical Revival, Gothic Revival, and other assorted revivalist and eclectic styles represented. Though not as famous as some other major streets in other European cities like La Rambla in Barcelona or the Champs-Élysées in Paris, O’Connell Street still has a comparable breadth and concentration of major commercial establishments to these more famous streets, and is one of the most important and notable places in the city.
The inside of my launch tub MOC. This is based largely on Battlestar Galactica, but I made it to fit my Warhawk starfigthers.

Day 5 random campsite (Segment 19) to random campsite (Segment 20)
Segment 20 begins at Eddiesville Trailhead where a pit toilet is available. This is area is very remote but I did see a few vehicles here. I even spotted one cloud. The trail exited the Wilderness Area briefly.
After taking a short break (and using the pit toilet, of course), I resumed hiking and shortly thereafter reentered La Garita Wilderness. This area is only served by a dirt road so I was somewhat surprised to see a house. Presumably a rancher because there was ample evidence of cows.
I had a destination in mind for the evening which was still several miles away. While still following Cochetopa Creek the trail went through a narrow valley toward San Luis Peak, another 14er. I encountered some hunters. 3 of them, each carrying out a piece of elk. Very cumbersome and very heavy, I was sure.
The wind began to increase, kinda like a funnel coming down the valley as it continued to narrow. I decided to search for a different campsite. I was losing treeline quickly and did not want to be exposed to the wind all night long. I found a suitable site and setup camp after a 16.8 mile day. Overall, a great day of hiking.
