I've been wondering how to improve my little trilobites by adding thoracic segments, making them more realistic and texturally interesting. I bumblingly improvised a new pattern for naalbinding and...well, dog my cats if it doesn't create lovely little thoracic segments!
I was so thrilled I had to stay up late to finish this wee bug. Visions of grandeur entered my head. "This is only the beginning," I thought. I pictured big bugs...bigger bugs...bugs of rare fabrics...bugs with millions of nicely delineated thoracic segments...
I copied the curved eyes I've seen on many Drotops-type fossils, and though those kinds of fossils don't, to my limited knowledge, usually exhibit prominent legs, if any, I thought I'd pop a few on here...just for cuteness' sake.
I felt I had truly succeeded in this project when this wee trilo got an "Awwwww!" from my husband. :)
