A seed pod on Gardenia

nasturtium pods i harvested on a walk in my neighborhood

Just liked the way they looked with the evening sunshine hitting on these locust pods when I went for a walk this evening. Soon, they will be full of large, round seeds.

I love the bright pink color at the base of the flower/seedpod on this golden California Poppy.

Water garden at Surreybrooke Nursery in Middletown, Maryland.

Found these odd seed pods on Kilmory Beach (Argyll, West Coast of Scotland) on Sunday. They look a bit like gherkins on the outside, but the inside looks a bit like corn (is that maize in British?) The outer skin was very hard and tough and had to be cut through with a knife.

Thank you to Martin Sanford (martinsanford on flickr) for the ID.
