Seedlings of Asimina triloba (pawpaw). The seeds were recovered from fruit in the fall of 2010 stored in damp peat moss in the refrigerator for approximately 9 months. Part of my pawpaw life cycle set.

Seeded December 7, 2011. Strange species. The seedlings looked all quite strange in the beginning, like rumply and crinkly — but many of them managed to bulb up and now show a decent grow.

HAIRY HONEYSUCKLE. Seedling shows hairy leaves, which differentiate it from seedlings of look-alike Symphoricarpos mollis, creeping snowberry. "Bird trail" behind hillside lab.

One Object 365 Days Project-62/365-Bunny planted lavender, chives and basil in her garden. Now she's not sure what is what. Poor Bunny!

It's that time of year again!

These things are sprouting at an incredible rate. I can take pictures twice a day and there will still be significant changes! As of noon on the 4th of August, 6 eggs have sprouted!

These seedlings were planted as part of a 2010 project in Virginia's George Washington National Forest to restore the tree cover around a stream that serves as a trout run.

Once planted, the seedlings are equipped with stakes and netting to protect them from local wildlife that might like to make a snack out of our reforestation effort.

July 15 - A bit over a week since week 1 photo. 11 seedlings so far.

Something ate all my Lettuce and Bok Choy seedlings that I repotted yesterday. I resowed Lettuce and Bok Choy seeds and hope that they grow quickly to replace the ones I lost. I then covered all the trays with a plastic dome.

 

Do you think birds are the culprit?

The alyssum and snapdragons before I started transplanting them out into the yard. They have already been hardened off outside for 2 weeks.

Marigolds maybe? We'll see. Seeds from a random flower seed packet.

New plumeria seedling growing at Richlin's Plumeria. A shell-type flower with similarities to Peachglow Shell but with a bright reddish orange stripe.

This plant starts to have pruinose leaves.

Sunflower seedlings, sown on same day: black tray (just emerging) outside in plastic greenhouse, brown pot inside on sunny windowsill. What a difference a few degrees extra heat does. 8.5.08
